Awful if you ever plan on needing to switch companies

I had a policy with fetch for a year. I wanted to switch my dog over to another company with better coverage as I wanted better benefits for what I was paying for that fetch did not offer and what my dog needed more as I have had her for a full year. The first call I made to cancel her policy the woman I spoke with rambled on for about a half hour about how my dogs surgery (her spay which had complications due to her almost being in heat at the time of surgery but not due to a blood disorder or any other condition) and her 1 ear inflection would possibly be considered pre existing conditions to the company I switch to for allergies, which i completely understand except she has never been treated for ongoing allergies or had more than 1 ear inflection from playing in water, She then had convinced me it would be better to defer the payment of my upcoming payment while I think about it and that my card would not be charged. A day later, when the monthly payment was due, my card was charged. My dog already had a new policy so I called again to officially cancel and for a refund as my card was not supposed to be charged until November 16th,2024 and I had planned on calling again to cancel before this date as I would not be using the fetch policy any longer. The woman who I spoke with the second time was helpful in that she canceled my policy without giving me pushback about canceling it but said she did see a payment hold on my account but could not confirm why my card was charged. She claims she processed my refund but there is no refund on my card, she did not state how long refunds take to reflect on a credit card statement, but it has been 3 days since she supposedly initiated the refund, I will probably wait a week or so before disputing it with my credit card company as I really do not want to call them again if I cannot confirm they are actually doing what they say they are doing. I would not recommend fetch if you ever plan on needing to switch companies at any point, it was great when my dog was a puppy but now that she is over a year and I wanted something with more benefits that she would benefit from such as ill and well exam fee coverage and thinking about the future, end of life care, that fetch does not offer for only a little bit more with higher reimbursement rates and the same deductible and fetch just made this process a little bit more difficult than it needed to be.
