Take the Financial Stress & Worry Out with Fetch Pet Insurance

I have been with Fetch Pet Insurance for many years, even back when they were Pet Plan. Getting Pet Insurance is the first thing I do when adopting a new pup. Fetch has always been there to help during what is always a very emotional time. Our pups are our kids. Sadly our two year old Bichon Mix Rescue started having seizures and although this is and will be a difficult and trying time for us, which includes a neurologist and lifetime meds, because of Fetch Pet Insurance we are able to provide our fur baby Kizmet with the quality of care we want and need to without having to worry about the financial impact of things. Knowing that we have Fetch Pet Insurance in our corner is truly a Godsend. We have all three of our fur babies insured and are grateful for Fetch. Thank you!!!!

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware: if you need insurance for a one time, unexpected accident this company is okay. But as soon as there is an ongoing medical condition Fetch will spike your premiums and lower pet coverage until it’s more expensive to have their insurance than pay for your dog’s treatment out of pocket. I had this insurance (previously PetPlan) since my now 13yo cocker mix was a perfectly healthy puppy. Therefore, everything was technically covered. When he had a couple small accidents, it was all reimbursed appropriately. However, as soon as my senior dog developed an aging lung condition and small heart murmur that requires expensive lifetime medication (still a very happy and active pup)… they made coverage completely unaffordable (3x the cost of his medication). When I called, a Fetch representative outright admitted that when pet payouts start to regularly exceed premiums and your deductible, this is what they do to make back the cost.

Fetch nickles and dimes their customers. They make very excuse to charge their customers more (secretly adding to monthly premiums without telling their customers). They have raised my premium multiple times without notifying me. One time was for more than $10 per month, and that was for updating my mailing address.

If I could give them zero stars I…

If I could give them zero stars I would. Fetch was great until it wasn’t. They don’t actually care about your pets so don’t be fooled by their messaging like I was. They will decrease your policy to their highest deductible and to the lowest co-insurance coverage with no warning or explanation. You will have to fight for the reason behind the change. They won’t even give you policy options like it states in your renewal email. It is a take the lousy offer or just leave. Pet insurance companies know that if you start using the pet insurance then you are stuck if you want coverage for your pet. Everything becomes pre-existing. It is so easy for them to screw you over and they enjoy doing it. I was more than happy to pay more money for the policy I had. I was even expecting the premium to go up. I was planning on paying it. I wasn’t expecting them to raise my deductible, lower my co-insurance, and lower the premium. None of this makes sense. What is the point of being a loyal customer if they just take away the policy you’ve been paying for. You had a loyal paying customer that you have now screwed over and proven that you actually don’t care about animals and their owners at all. The customer service is so awful. I used to recommend so many people to this company but never again. The fact that I have talked to multiple that said we can’t help you. We aren’t going to do anything or help you. What happened to good customer service? I need a company to rely for my pets needs and this one just isn’t it. Please, whatever you decide to do, find a better company for your pets. I miss Petplan. They were a great company. It sucks that Fetch bought them. I’ve had nothing but issues with Fetch.

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$250, $300 and $500

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
