I recently moved about 15 miles to a new place and because of the zip code my rates went up. Even though my vets office stayed the same there explanation was that my zip code area files more claims. My zip code may have changed but my vets zip didn’t change. Really nothing they said made any sense.
So far the claim has not been confirmed. They have been waiting on the diagnosis and it’s been sent twice by email and once verbal and then again email
Had nationwide for years . When I got new dogs I switched to Embrace . Submitted claims months ago . Embrace require a complete history for my older dogs. Despite my vet submitted their complete file 10 times . They have yet to pay the claim . It’s like ground hog day . I keep calling and now despite having all the records they put the claim on hold .
I have an accident and illness plan with 90% reimbursement, with an annual $30,000 dollar cap and $250 annual co-pay. My dog is a red and black, 6 year old highly trained German Shepherd. Emma was outside laying in the sun, in front of the front door, when a coyote came into view from around the back of the house. She jumped up barking and snarling, and the chase was on. I was yelling to her stop! "Stop!" But she was after the invader who just appeared. Emma on the tail of the coyote as they went down, under the fence, and then it turned upward, it became a steep and rocky uphill chase. She was so determined to get the intruder, she gave it her hardest. Coyotes can out run dogs. I recalled my dog and she broke off the assault and retired. Next day, I observed she was limping and toe tipping. I called my regular Vet, but I could not get an appointment for 17 days. I was not happy about this. My girl was in pain and having problems walking. Couple days later, I called the Vet to explain I needed help for my dog. They said they were full until my appointment date. Not satisfactory to me, so off we went to the Pet Hospital in Fresno. 5 hours later, examination, X-rays, blood work, etc, Doctor told me it appears she tore her Anterior Cruciate Ligament, and seems a partial tear on the other rear leg. Doctor tells me this will require surgery to repair. Doctor also told me that this has to be done by a Specialty Veterinary Doctor. I paid this visit that day $1531.00. My next move was to see my regular vet on the 17th day. They examined my X-rays, blood work, and came to the same conclusion. They gave me a flyer for a Veterinary Doctor that specialize in this type of surgery. I made the appointment and went to see Dr. Frey, DVM, DACVS, at Stockton Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center. He agreed with the findings and so we set a surgery date immediately. On Nov. 6, 2024, Emma got the Tibia Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery. Paid the bill of $5,899.94 dollars. So far my Embrace Insurance as already paid me back the two first Vet bills, (minus my annual $250 deductible and paid 90% of the bills). I will submit today Emma’s surgery bill and I expect the same that they will pay 90 percent as per my plan. I have invested probably over 20,000 dollars in my dog. Cost of purchase of Emma, medical upkeep, TRAINING, Insurance, etc. She is a real Service Dog that helps my wife and I with our medical problems to be able to walk. This incident felt like it was going to destroy us. The love I have for my pet, can’t be explained. The money was hard to come up with. But EMBRACE has made this journey so far easy, no hassles, and has paid the bills in about 10 days after I submitted the invoices. payment was direct deposited to my checking account. I feel that I have the BEST plan and I will stay with them forever with EMMA or any future pet. If you are considering pet insurance, well "when" or "if" something happens to your love one, you will be thanking GOD you made that decision. THANK YOU EMBRACE for doing what you said you would do. Being Professional seems to be a lost art now days. One very happy customer, and my dog is on her way to recovery. Very class act, EMBRACE.
