So far so good

Just went through the precertification process for my dog's upcoming bilateral patellar subluxation surgery and I must say that it has been a pleasant and simple process. The people I have been coresponding with have been friendly, kind, compassionate and prompt. If the entire process works out the same I will be truly impressed. As a physician accustomed to dealing with people insurance I can say they could learn alot from the way Embrace deals with their clients. So far would recommend them without reservation!!

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

We have only had Embrace insurance for 5 months and we CANNOT be happier with our purchase. It has been the best investment my husband and I have made. THere are no "catches," no reasons they find for not approving when the policy seems to state it should, and the turn around time is quick on claims (especially after your first one). Also.. we picked this insurance because, after MUCH homework, we found they are one of the ONLY insurances to cover "genetic diseases" such as dysplasia. For other companies that do cover this diseases, almost all of them will only cover "one side" of the body. A dog is almost never dysplastic on just one hip, or one elbow. And sure enough... our only 14 month old high-spirited and extremely handsome yellow lab has elbow dysplasia. He is having surgery in just a few days, on both elbows at a cost of $3,000. Our total price? $300. THANK YOU EMBRACE!!!!

What an Insurance Company Should Be

After a horrible experience with VPI, I signed up with Embrace after seeing all the positive reviews on this site. After 3 months my pet had to be hospitalized for seizures. I was a little nervous since I had just signed my dog up for coverage, but the Embrace team was wonderful and so caring. They kept in constant communication with me and processed my claim within the 15 days promised. Even after the check was received they emailed me to follow up on how my dog was doing. Great company and should be the blueprint for other insurance companies.

Slow Claims Process

I have had my dog insured by Embrace since May of 2008. I recently submitted my first claim and had to submit records from each of the veterinarians that he had been to. It was a bit of a hassle, but understandable and the communications via email were excellent during each step of this process. Once Embrace had all of the information they requested, they told me that I would hear from them about my claim "within 15 business days", but after a month without hearing a word, I emailed them to find out my claim status. They were apologetic and said that they were expanding their claims department at the time which caused the delay. Two days later, I got my answer, my claim was denied due to pre-existing condition. I purchased a policy with Embrace because of their high customer rating and I will be curious about how future claims are handled. Overall, Embrace customer care is very good and caring, just a bit slow at this time. I would recommend Embrace.

Very slow to process

This was my first claim with the company. I received an email telling me to expect to hear from them within 15 business days, but heard nothing from them. When I called after 19 business days, they aplogized for the delay and processed the claim within 45 minutes. They did approve the claim and pay as expected in the policy, telling me to expect the check with 10 business days. After 12 business days I called to learn that they had sent the check to the wrong person and would be sending out another check. Today, almost 2 months after my pet's hospitalization, I received the check for his coverage.
