Worst insurance coverage I've ever had
When I applied for coverage my puppy was 3 and 1/2 months old. Embrace wanted me to get an orthopedic exam, and then they would wave the 6 mo. waiting period. My vet advised against this saying very young puppies can exhibit as if there was a joint problem because their joints, ligaments etc. are much looser than an older dog and can present as a problem when there actually is none. For this reason I didn't get the exam. A month before the end of the waiting period, my dog fell and bruised a muscle in her neck, which was diagnosed as a soft tissue injury. This was not a pre-existing condition, but because Embrace defines Orthopedic as including muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints they denied the claim. As far as I'm concerned they set you up to deny claims based on their definition of orthopedic . I was under the impression that would mean bones. Also although this claim was filed in May, I heard nothing from them until the beginning of July. Every week I would get an excuse, We're working on your claim. This isn't like Embrace." This has happened with every claim. I have a claim for an ear infection predating the soft tissue injury that I still haven't heard about. My vet had told me she heard this was good insurance. She now knows it isn't. I would not recommend it to anyone.
