Peace of mind

It's really a great comfort to know that whenever a pet is perceived as having any health related issue that there is no longer a reason to feel stressed about whether or not to take the pet to the vet to get checked out. This is my 2nd year with Embrace and I wish I had known about them many years ago.

So far, so good

Disclaimer: I am a new customer and I am writing this review in response to the first reimbursement from Embrace. I also have nothing to compare Embrace to. So, more will be revealed but so far, so good. Excellent customer service: actual people who are kind, polite, and literate keep me up to date with the progress of the claim. Now, on the downside, I expected the policy to cover annual checkups. This is something that Embrace should provide: prevention, after all, is in their best interest. If they covered preventive care (i.e., annual checkups) I would give them a 10.

Great pet insurance

Our 3 year old English Bulldog had a luxating patella in her left rear leg. It took a couple of vet appointments for it to be correctly diagnosed as we first thought it was an ACL injury. Knowing we had Embrace Pet Insurance was a relief as we had a labrador mix that need to have an ACL surgically repaired about 5 years ago. We didn't have insurance for her and had to absurd the whole cost of the surgery. Not this time! We were able to schedule Lexie's surgery right away for the day after she was diagnosed. The quicker a luxating patella is corrected the better chance they'll have for a full recovery without ongoing issues. Lexie is doing great now. She still has a way to go to rehabilitate her knee but she is ahead of schedule. She has about 3 more months of recovery time to call the surgery a complete success. We would not have been able to afford the cost of the surgery without Embrace Pet Insurance. Lexie's half-sister belongs to my mother-in-law. Knowing that this may have been a genetic issue we talked my mother-in-law into purchasing a new policy for her half-sister as she had let the coverage lapse. Lexie's half sister is now covered by Embrace and passed her orthopedic exam with flying colors. We are fortunate enough to have thought ahead and purchased our policy after our original AKC plan was set to renew at about 10 times the original cost. The Embrace cost has gone up a little each year but nothing like how our old AKC plan was set to increase.

If you have a pet, you need Embrace!!!

Like most pet owners, my pet's needs are very important to me. She is a member of my family and when I found out my cat Annie had mammary carcinoma,I was devasstated. I had no idea this could even happen to a cat. I immediately thought this meant my time with Annie was cut short, but because I had Embrace Pet Insurance, that wasn't the case. Luckily I had decided to secure pet insurance several years before based on the great advice from my mom, because my policy helped out a great deal with the costs. It made the option of treatment possible. On top of the financial benefit during this situation and the financial advantage after every pet visit, the employees at Embrace truly care. If you respond to a cliam email, an actual person responds! Can you believe that??? I have also gotten the sense that these employees are also pet owners as well, which is comforting when dealing with a difficult situation concerning your pet. I am tahnkful everyday that I got Embrace pet insurance for Annie and continue to be very satisfied with their service. So, if you have a pet, there should be no cinsideration necessary....get pet insurance. It is a no brainer. Annie is now cancer free and has so many more years ahead of her.

Confusing

Just purchased Embrace for a new to us rescue dog. Confused and unhappy from the get go. I should have taken the inability to enter my proper address as a sign. I had to use a city/zip code 45 miles away. So far nothing has been easy, or straight forward. No we don't need anything from you, yes we need complete records. Claim has been paid, claim is being denied. Which one is it. Much happier with our previous pet insurance provider we have for our other dogs. Just may switch this pup to it as well. They seem to do everything they can to make paying a claim difficult from confusing/contradicting emails to contacting my vet directly for information I had already provided. Also pay as much as they can under the wellness benefit claiming it is to maximize 100% reimbursement, in reality this only brings you to your annual wellness limit with claims that should be under illnesses. Very unhappy!

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
Embrace Pet Insurance protects over 100,000 pets across the U.S. with nose-to-tail accident and illness protection. In addition to its pet insurance policy, Embrace offers a Wellness Rewards program to help cover the cost of routine veterinary care, grooming and training. Its Healthy Pet Deductible™, the industry’s first and only diminishing deductible feature, is included with every policy as standard. For every policy sold, Embrace donates $2 to a pet-related charity, as well as offering additional funding and support to shelters and other charitable organizations.
