Constant communication with you, quick responses

I recently purchased Embrace plus Wellness Plan, for my 2 year old Newfoundland puppy. As a giant breed, there are known hereditary issues that I knew my girl might come across as she aged and was looking for a plan that covered possible hereditary issues.I had an Orthopedic exam performed on 10.24,09 and submitted the completed exam to Embrace to reduce the 6 mo waiting period prior to coverage for any Ortho disorders - we received clearance for her waiver on 10.26.09, over the weekend. I also submitted the bill for the exam on the 10.24, and was informed today, 10.30.09, that it has been processed and paid according to her Wellness portion of her benefits. I also had my vet submit her complete medical history to Embrace to get a better understanding of any "pre-existing conditions" that might come up within the next year that they might not cover. But so far, so good! I have read my policy from end to end more than 20 different times to fully understand what is deemed "pre-existing","behavioral" etc. Embrace has been on top of all my concerns and has been in constant contact with me regarding the process. I will update after I hear back from them regarding the medical history review.

Great Service!

We bought a purebred puppy, and thought pet insurance might be a good option, even though we have never had it before. I found Embrace online, and liked the optional illness and dental protection options, so I signed up. Good thing I did, as our puppy became very ill and had to see several specialist veterinarians; she has a rare metabolic/ muscle disease. Embrace has been great and has covered her bills, but the best thing about them is the customer care. Embrace reps. follow up to ensure I receive payments from them, and have sent kind words for my dog in emails along with my EOB's. I would highly recommend Embrace to anyone looking for quality insurance and compasionate customer serivce.

I don't know if I can recommend you.

My dog got a bacteria called pseudomonas, it is the most resistant to antibiotics. It comes from dirt this then caused him to have bronchitis and Embrace declared it was genetic and paid $63, out of $3000 in bills. I had bronchitis every spring as a kid it was not genetic and it went away. I am considering if I need insurance.I'm not a happy client, I feel deceived. I figure if he breaks his leg they will find some way to declare that a genetic disease.

recommend Embrace to pet owners

Our dog is our baby. She has had pet insurance since a pup and is 3.5 years old now. She was always healthy until an acute illness this year. We had switched to Embrace because our old insurance made unilateral decisions on what claim payouts should be based on (their own cost chart versus what the vet actually charges customers for services). This was frustrating and costly to us. Embrace covered 90% of the actual vet cost when they processed our claims. No hassels. And they cared enough to ask after our dog and the progress of how she was doing. Their professionalism and courteousness was refreshing. In the end our dog's well being is all we care about and after many tests and a surgery she is now back to being healthy and playful. However, it's nice to know that Embrace gives great coverage and works with you from start to finish of the claim process and that. My sole warning to new Embrace customers is that upon your first claim, Embrace will ask for the last 2 years of health history (veterinary medical records) of your pet to rule out pre-existing conditions. Something I feel should have been made clear up front when purchasing the policy. Because of this review process; your first claim will take a little longer to process than you might expect. The good news is that they stay in communication with you the entire duration of the process until claim payout is made. You'll love Embrace. It's worth choosing them for your pet's insurance or switching over to them from your existing one. Sasha L. (Massachusetts)

Excellent!

I purchased an insurance policy from Embrace a year ago, but was unable to make any comment at that time because I did not need it for my dog. This year Embrace offered a wellness program which I did sign up for. After taking my dog, Lucy, to the vet for her yearly checkup and dental cleaning, I was easily over the $200 maximum for payment. I submitted the bills by fax and was notified the same day of acceptance by return e-mail. The check for $200 was mailed to me and I received it the next week. How's that for service!

Monthly Cost

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian.
