We just made and received our first claim under the Wellness Plan. The process couldn't have been easier and everytime I needed to talk to somebody on the phone, the customer service rep was very helpful. The reimbursement check came faster than they promised. Thanks again.

Feel Completely Tricked
I signed up for a policy for my American Bulldog mix. After I sent in the paperwork for my health history review, I received notification that I needed to prove that my dog was a mix instead of a purebred - his file at the vet mistakenly identified him as a plain American Bulldog - or they were going to raise my premium. I talked to the vet and they said they would provide a written statement indicating that it was an error on their part, and that I really do have a mix. Embrace said this was not sufficient -- that I had to have something from the rescue. Which made no sense to me since they had to guess at what he said and the vet is way more qualified. I was also told that I could send in pictures to demonstrate that he was a mix. So I did. And I was then informed that I had a Boxer Mix so they were going to raise my rates anyway. Which is absolutely ridiculous b/c I did was I was asked to - I proved he was an American Bulldog mix and the underwriters at Embrace switched it up on me so they could raise my rates anyway. I asked for clarification on why they were raising the rates anyway, when I had done what they asked, and had a vet that was willing to atest to that. Instead of getting a response, I got an email informing me that my premium had been raised and my card had already been charged.
I feel completely hoodwinked and feel that Embrace has some unethical business practices. I have cancelled my policy b/c I do not want to do business with people I can't trust to be honest. I've read through these other reviews and realize that I am completely in the minority, but wanted to share my experience anyways.

Transparent & Uncomplicated
Having recently switched from VPI, I was absolutely amazed at how transparent and uncomplicated the claim process was. Sure, the two policies I got for my dogs cost approximately 15% more than their VPI counterprts, but I have already more than made up the difference. For example, Embrace's routine-care (wellness) coverage actually costs just as much as the other insurance company. However, I was actually shocked to have received a 100% reimbursement from Embrace up to the policity limit of $200, when I was used to receiving very, very small portions back from VPI (e.g., $15 for a $65 shots as well as for a $95 exam, $10 for a $60 test, etc.). I used to get about $40 to $50 back from VPI, but I actually received $200 from Embrace! Wow, what a difference, for the same premium. I am definitely happy with Embrace. The ONLY thing, though, is that they might sometimes be a bit disorganized... I have sent in the same paperwork (NYS insurance waiver?) twice already, and they have just asked me to send them another copy because they couldn't locate one. While this has not affected my claims, it doesn't exactly scream, "We are organized!"

Great Custimer Service - Easy!!!
I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone at Embrace! They answer their emails quickly, every time. They sent updates while processing my claim so I knew just what was happening and wasn't left to wonder if anyone had even looked at it yet. When I called them, they were very helpful on the phone, as well. The claim process if very easy and straightforward. The rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend Embrace to everyone! I work one day a week at a vet clinic and I will be telling clients of my good experiences. Many of them have had claim after claim denied through VPI and have given up on pet insurance. Now I can let them know not all companies are the same, and recommend they give Embrace a try!
