Efficient, Friendly and Trustworthy

I have never had pet insurance before but, after seeing various friends and family members run into the ground with piles of bills, thought it would be wise. Embrace was the first one I heard about and, when I called, they seemed friendly enough so I signed up without having done much research. Recently, we had a scare with my young cat that ended up costing nearly $2,000. We dropped off our cat at the vet Friday morning and I immediately called Embrace to verify our coverage and its terms. They could not have been more sympathetic, caring and clear. I still can't believe how terrific their coverage is - 90% is terrific. Thanks to these clarifications we were comfortable with leaving our cat overnight, visiting hospitals all weekend, running tests, all costly outlays but necessary. By the following Tuesday he was better, thanks to the terrific medical care we were able to afford with Embrace's assurance. Post-treatment proved to be, if possible, even easier. Representatives phoned and emailed me to check on our cat (though it wasn't harassing in any way) and followed up with the vets/animal hospitals on our behalf so we could calm our nerves a bit. A couple of weeks later the checks arrived in the mail and voila! I've had immense trouble with my own health insurance so I'm thrilled that it is possible for an insurance company to be pro-active, helpful and caring and Embrace possesses all of those qualities and many more. (So, cats not only get to live the easiest,

Getting Started on the Right Foot

After having a terrible time with costly vet bills with my last dog I had to find a better way to caring for my best friend. My first step was going to a quality breeder with adequate guarentees and health tests for the dogs parents. The most important step was taking care of the dog no matter what happened and Embrace was able to offer everything to easy my mind based on the typical issues with my breed and random stuff that occurs accidentially with dogs.

Waited for the nightmare that never came

Our 1.5 year old pit just got through having tplo surgery on the cruciate ligament in not one but both legs. The surgery was unexpected and the recovery is beyond words. The only thing that has been the saving grace in this experience has been dealing with Embrace. Besides submitting the needed paperwork I did nothing but receive frequent updates regarding the claim and a fast turnaround between the claim and the check going out. I've gotten so used to terrible customer service and find print issues that I'm still in shock that there are still companies out there doing business the right way. Thank you embrace, we would have been in a world of hurt without you guys.

recommendation

I did a lot of research before choosing Embrace. My initial well care refund was fast, no questions asked. My second well care visit was slightly more difficult because they required pproof of my dogs prevous medical history and since I adopted a shleter dog I had no prior hstory to present. Eventually I was reimbursed for the full visit and payment arrived 4 weeks later. Overall they are very helpful and try to accomodate the pet owner. I would recommend them to friends.

Fair to themselves, and to clients

Well care "coverage" is a great way to get a little discount off routine items, while helping to ensure good health. Owners should be able to pay for routine items, but by offering this, both the owner and the insurer benefit. The actual insurance has plenty of options to make it fair for both. Remember, if not fair to both, it will go away! I hope to lose money on the insurance portion, but the discount by adding wellness makes very inexpensive to gain good coverage for a disaster. This company encourages good health, and actual "insurance" unlike another who tries to sell a way for an owner to get almost all costs paid for.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
Embrace Pet Insurance protects over 100,000 pets across the U.S. with nose-to-tail accident and illness protection. In addition to its pet insurance policy, Embrace offers a Wellness Rewards program to help cover the cost of routine veterinary care, grooming and training. Its Healthy Pet Deductible™, the industry’s first and only diminishing deductible feature, is included with every policy as standard. For every policy sold, Embrace donates $2 to a pet-related charity, as well as offering additional funding and support to shelters and other charitable organizations.
