Not worth the money

Was a customer for 3 years with embrace. Came to them from USAA since I was supposed to get some sort of a discount, not sure if I ever got the discount or not... First few years I was only paying $30-$40 per month for the insurance, I am also pretty sure I had the best plan they offered minus an addon. I filed a claim every time I went to the Vet using the upload feature and every time they said that the visit was just "wellness" or it was "pre-existing". To make a point, probably filed about 10-12 claims and NOT A SINGLE ONE WAS EVER APPROVED. My pet has no conditions and is healthy so not really sure what they are using to determine it. I would occasionally call and ask what the deal was and every time it was another excuse and then they would try and upsell me on something which would double my premium. I would often ask "what am I paying for" and each time I would be told it was for insurance and that it was for "piece of mind" and if something happened blah blah... Well this year my premium doubled, for apparently no reason...I would assume its because my dog was "at risk" or something but then again I've never been able to use the insurance so doesn't make sense why it would double. So I did the math and realized that all of my vet bills combined for the last 3 years wasn't even close to the amount I paid for Embrace. Decided to cancel it because it was just sunk cost and not worth it... Maybe its worth it if your pet has issues, but I'm sure if you do a cost analysis Embrace always comes out on top.

Good & Not So Good…

I have had both a good experience (1st rescue pup) and an absolutely dreadful experience (second rescue pup I added) insuring my two rescues with them. I’m not sure what has changed with them in the last few years, but best advice is to read everything, ask as many questions up front as to what the will cover and what they won’t based on your dogs pre-existing conditions (if any). I think for my second dog I would have been much better off just putting the same amount as the premium into a savings account, as $600/yr plus $500 deductible only to find out half the time he is excluded based on prior history is not fun.

Super Easy!

Again, the claim submission process is super easy! My dog underwent TPLO surgery and Embrace is covering 80% of the cost so instead of being out of pocket for $6K, I am only paying $1200 once I meet my deductible.

Reliable, Great Service, Expensive

Customer service is great and I have the coverage that my dogs and cats need. I have filed claims and was reimbursed quickly. My only issue with this company is that they are quite pricey. But, they all seem to be. What's more, some of my cats and one of my dogs are seniors, which boosts the costs substantially. I highly recommend pet insurance and do recommend Embrace. But know that, whoever you go with, it will be expensive. However, if an emergency comes up, it will save you money, and perhaps you cat's or dog's life. You never want to have to make a decision about life-saving surgery or a procedure against the cost if you don't have insurance.
