$4500 the first time - $3000 the second

When my tough as nails Amstaff refused to eat and was dry heaving I knew from experience that she had something lodged in her. As your four pawed baby is dying in the exam room you tell them to fix her. Then you get the bill. Having pet insurance makes paying that bill much easier to swallow - especially in these trying times. I didn't have pet insurance the first time and the bill was over $4500. The best part of pet health insurance is that I still have my four pawed baby who now plays with my 1 year old.

ASPCA-Great Pet Insurance

ASPCAHartville insurance is amazing pet insurance. The customer service dept people are always available and helpful. They are very good at taking "insurance speak" and turning it into simple english. They are willing to take the time to help you pick the kind of coverage that you can afford and what is best for your pet. Claims are processed quickly and there are no hidden conditions or statements. Checks arrive quickly when claims are filed

Thank God for Pet Insurance

At age 50, figuring I was ripe for some company, I acquired two littermates from Cat Rescue and a beauty from the give-away bin at the pet store. I suppose because I was so nervous about assuming responsibility for any living thing, I acquired PetsHealth Insurance for medical emergencies. It is deducted from my pay check and I don’t even notice the deduction. All of this was twelve years ago. Two of the cats are now 14, and the other is 12. Last year, one of the littermates and the long hair beauty developed thyroid cancer, and I was totally unprepared to absorb the cost of 1) the surgery and 2) the radiation treatment that the second one had to have because she had already lost so much weight, PetsHealth answered my claims within a month after I filed them, and I am happy to report that both girls are now healthy again. I know I won’t have them forever. I also know that cat owners often throw money away on junk but balk at the important health care costs that insure a happy cat. I’m a firm believer in having health insurance on any pet that I own, first because I am not even remotely wealthy, and second, because it would be immoral not to. Veterinary costs often seem as high as medical costs, and very few of us can absorb the costs out-of-pocket. I am so grateful that I had my PetsHealth insurance Plan to cover Cosima’s and Babette’s medical emergencies. Jim Carmichael Greensboro, NC

Just like every other company

ive been with apsca since 11/08 and i think the coverage is great. i mean they do have that sucky "reasonable costs" clause but from the comparisons ive been doing every company has the same thing. The thing that i like most is that you can add extra coverage called continuing care...(something i dont remember exactly what its called) but i got that for an extra like 9 bucks a month and that makes it so i dont have to worry about taht 180 days thing everyone keeps talking about. Maybe that would help some other people if they were to look in to that? Other than that i dont think its bad at all.

May as well not have insurance.

I have two Shih Tuz's and one had to have metal plates in his front legs and they claimed it was a hereditary condition age 1 1/2 and then the other one had a scratch on her eye which got infected and almost lost her eye and ASPCA called that hereditary age 1 1/2 so there was never any payments made even for the hospitalization that was required because they said it was boarding costs. I would definitely not buy this insurance and I have canceled after one year with $0 money ever reimbersed.
