Been a Lifesaver

Petshealth Plan has been one of the best things I did when I adopted my dog from the pound 7 years ago. He has had a lot of strange issues and they have been great about paying the 80%. I would be out thousands of dollars by now if I didn't have this insurance. I am reimbursed quickly and that helps a lot too.

My experience with ASPCAPet insurance

Dear Customer Service: I have been very pleased with your pet insurance so far. The claims that I have had to file have been attended to promptly. I have also been very pleased with the reimbursements. I have told all my friends who have pets about your company. I also encourage anyone who is considering obtaining pet insurance for their animals, to contact your company before making a final decision. I also think you should contact veterinarians and send them your brochures to put in their offices, as that is how I originally found out about you. Thanks, again, for being there for my three dogs. Sincerely, Patricia

Not what is says it is

When my boxer was 6 months old, he hurt his back from the other boxer jumping on him. They did it again a month later. I took my dogs in for shots and he was checked out. No problems. I saw the pamplet for ASPCA insurance, so I got it. 2 months later, my dogs had a fever and sore neck and back. This was totally different from the other episodes. I took him to the vet and after many test found out he had spinal menigitis. When I put in the claims, equaling about $7500, they denied it saying it was pre-existing. There are no records of the dog having pain associated with fever in anywhere. I could not have let my dog go 4 moths with this disease. Then they said it was hereditary also. I found many articles saying it is unknown what triggers this disease and it cannot be classified as hereditary, plus I talk to specialists and other veterinarians, but they still denied my claim. Make sure you know what they consider hereditary, genetic or what other ways they can turn it around to their benefit.

Paid for itself in one year

Last year after donating to the ASPCA I received information regarding their pet insurance and decided that it was finally time to sign up my two cats. They were both healthy at the time but one was getting older and I figured I'd rather have it and not need it. About six months later my cat was diagnosed with diabetes and the costs associated were pretty expensive but the pet insurance kicked right in, submitting claims was incredibly easy, and, if need be, you can get someone on the phone to help very quickly and they are very pleasant and helpful. I opted for a primary plan with continuing care for the one cat and it has already paid for itself several times over. They pay a good percentage of the actual cost, incuding medications, and you receive a check pretty quickly once you submit the claim. I had one charge that they declined to cover- I called and explained that the charge was related to the cat's diabetes, resubmitted the claim and received payment within a couple weeks. I really couldnt recommend this pet insurance enough!

Reliable/timely

We have had four dogs over the last 20 years - we currently have two labs - the youngest is Sadie. She is constantly getting into trouble. My sister calls her Marlene because she is a female "Marley" (mischievious, incorrigible, and totally lovable." Sadie continues to get in predicaments that result in her getting hurt - cut paws, you name it - she does it. PetHealth hs been an excellent insurer - they respond to our claims quickly via email, then send the reimbursement shortly thereafter. It is easy to submit a claim and we are very pleased with the value-level coverage. We love our pup and know if anything terribly serious happens to her, we can quickly take care of her and be reimbursed. A good insurance company with excellent customer service. I especially like the $100 annual deductible. Works well with this pup.
