Don't buy ASPCA!!! RUN NOW!

ASPCA PET INSURANCE!!RUN! RUN! RUN! DON’T TRUST THEM!!!! THEY WILL GIVE YOU ONE HECK OF A SALES PITCH, THEN SAY THEY CAN FIND THE RECORDED CONVERSATION!! DON’T TRUST THEM..NOT WITH YOUR BABY!!!! RUN, DON’T BUY, GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY!! THE OTHER COMPANIES ARE ALL BETTER THAN THIS ONE…PET-SMARTING IS HOW YOUR CHARGE WILL APPEAR…TREMINDS ME OF LYING TELEMARKETERS!!!They do not disclose facts for coverage. They charged my account on the 6th of February but decided to change coverage to 2/15/2010 so that they would not have to pay. They also denied a claim on 3/18 for the reason of falling within 30 days (not even disclosing)and after I pointed out it was longer than 30 days they changed to pre-existing. When I inially called no preesisting issues were discussed. They claim they cover meds but don’t expect the vet bill to write the prescriptions to be covered..even if it is a vet approval/prescibed needed medication. They claim it was preexisting but he didnt pre exist, he was a puppy!! I called 8 times and email 5 times and until I decided to deny charges, I never received a call. How can alleries be a pre-existing issue on a brand new puppy? If they cover Revalution, a prescribed med for fleas, heatworms, etc..than why wouldn’t they cover his 1st visit to the doctors as an annual exam. They say they cover meds, but don’t expect it…,.,$500.00 later and The best plan they offer at almost $80.00 a month and absolutly nothing execpt a little towards the $100.00 deductible was covered.

Happy with ASPCA pet insurance

I have been happy with the ASPCA pet insurance so far. Shortly after purchasing the insurance, my sheltie had problems with vomiting, diarrhea, and weight loss. He had to see a specialist and had lots of tests and bloodwork taken. Even though they base their 80% on reasonable costs, the amount reimbursed to me was extremely helpful. Much more than my premium for the year. I appreciated the detailed information reported to me on-line and reimbursement for my claim in a timely manner. The insurance has come through for me.

A good investment for your pet

Our golden retriever, Murphy started to limp and I noticed his right front outer toe was swollen and his limp was getting worse by the next day so I made an appointment with the vet. They had to sedate him to take an x ray of his paw but the x ray ruled out a break or fracture of any kind. They could not feel an abscess, so figured it may have been something like a sting or bite and he was having a reaction to it. They eventually placed him on steroid tablets for a few days and some benadryl capsules. Eventually, he did get better and it took a couple of weeks for the limping to totally stop but he is back to his old self again. I am so thankful for pet insurance, because we are on a retired income and he is the first dog I have ever had insured. So glad I made that decision! My total bill was 423.00 and my insurance paid 224.00 of that. What a help!

rip off

We have carried ASPCA insurance (level 4 top level)for almost 3 years. This is supposed to pay for preventative care including vaccines, flea/heartworm meds, and dental. It is a nightmare trying to recover costs from them! They are vague and unwilling to share how they arrive at their figures. I am cancelling and do not recommend this company to anyone.

Served it's purpose

I like this insurance because it helped us to make quick decisions when our dogs were sick without having to worry about the amount of money we were spending. My dog BamBam was given just 2 weeks to live due to his kidney problems unless we were able to be extremely aggressive with fluid treatments, etc. We were able to say "yes" right away knowing that the insurance would cover the first $1500 for this incident. It has been 15 months now and BamBam is still doing fantastic. The insurance does only cover the first $1500 of each incident and if the pet is not considered to be "cured" within 6 months, the insurance will never again cover this incident. If BamBam has a kidney problem in the future, we basically are on our own. We don't like this part of it, because this is not how REAL insurance works. But, when the incident first occured it allowed us to say YES to treatment without giving it a second though. I will likely get this insurance on my future pets as well.
