Easy decision

My dog, Bella, is an almost three-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle mix (Cavapoo). After checking out several different carriers and asking my vet, I bought ASPCA pet insurance when Bella was just a puppy. In the past, I did not have pet insurance for my Yorkshire terrier and had to make the very painful decision to put him to sleep when he was 9 years old AFTER spending thousands of dollars in the diagnosis and treatment of Cushing’s disease. After that experience, the decision to have pet insurance for my next dog was an easy one. I have peace of mind knowing that a portion of Bella’s medical bills will be covered, thus making the decision to bring her into the vet when she is sick an easy one. The ASPCA pet heath insurance has sent prompt payments for a gastrointestinal infection and ear infection. What I also like about the ASPCA insurance is the ease of submitting a claim. I just go online and fill out a claim form, print it out and fax it in. They send an email confirmation and a check arrives in the mail promptly – EASY!

Coverage for my 4-legged kid

I've had coverage ever since getting our bulldog a couple of years ago. She is like a typical child, running, playing and having to go to the doctor to get a scratch looked at. The coverage gives the comfort of our dog being taken care of and getting reimbursed for the vet expenses. Recently her eye got scratched and had to get several medicines which were costly. The coverage reimbursed for most of the charges and that really helped. It just gives you more peace of mind to know that there is coverage for pets also.

Worse than Obamacare

I have had ASPCA plans on two dogs for about a year. They have had exclusions for every illness or injury claim I have submitted. A complete waste of money. Shopping for something better. You would think that an organization like the ASPCA would offer a better product.

Peace of Mind for my cats

I previously owned 2 cats and 1 dog. Our cats were 13 and 18 when they passed. Our dog, 14 yrs and we lost her this year. My husband and I decided to adopt cats and we ended up with three from the shelter. They are a delight, but we wanted to make sure they were covered with insurance. Our previous pets werent. We are glad we have decided to go with ASPCA for our insurance after reviewing the others that are out there.

Coverage and Costs

I adopted my dog Bene' two and half years ago from a shelter. She has filled my life with so much unconditional love I can't imagine her not in it. I got insurance for her immediately knowing the routine veterinary expenses can be costly. In August of this year, I adopted a kitten from a (what I found out afterwards to be) unreputable shelter. She came without being spayed and infested with ringworm. Both Bene' and I caught the ringworm as well. The kitten had to be quarantined for 3 months in my back bathroom. Some $3,000 later between vet, meds for Bene' and BooKaay compounded with Dermatologist and meds for me we all survived this ordeal. Thank goodness I had health insurance on Bene' at the time it eased some of the financial burden. I also have a policy on my kitten to cover her expenses with the vet etc. I would say overall the policy coverages are fair to good. The customer support people are wonderful and helpful. My only concern is what Hartville considers "fair and allowable". The vet expenses are somewhat higher here where I live versus somewhere else in the country. I feel that they should take less of a harder line with pet issues and related expenses than is now in place. Bene' was diagnosed with a luxating pitella at about 10 month old. I filed a claim only to be denied saying it was a congenital conditon that is not covered. My vet said that it was not the case. We both appealed the claim only to be told Hartville would not cover the expenses which
