Bear's CCL injury

I am very happy with the service we received from ASPCA Pet Insurance. Our dog, Bear injured his CCL in May, 2010. He had surgery a few weeks later. I submitted the simple claim form to ASPCA and received our payment a few weeks later. There was no hassle and I would buy the insurance again. It more than paid for itself.

I have been pleased with ASPCA for my 2 bostons

I have 2 boston terriers who, thankfully, have been quite healthy. In the past 3-4 yrs. I have only had 3 claims. I like the choice of levels of coverage....my only disappointment (and I have not needed it yet) is that I did not understand about 'continuing coverage'. I will be adding that to my premium at renewal for both of my boys. The claims that have been accepted and paid (after my deductible) were completed quickly without hassle. My entire purpose to have pet insurance is to make sure I am not faced with not being able to give the proper care due to cost of the vet services. I feel secure having the insurance.

Kennel Cough

My dog had a significant case of Kennel Cough and we had to bring him to our vet. There were a few things that she had to look at and it wound up costing us a few hundred dollars. I am glad we had the ASPCA pet insurance because it did cover a significant amount of the total bill (after the deductable was paid). The ASPCA pet insurance plan is great as long as its not a pre-existing issue. Our dog has an ongoing ear issue due to a food allergy that we had treated by our vet prior to getting the insurance and when we submitted a claim for that they rejected it. I would suggest that if you buy a puppy/kitten, and can afford it, to purchase a pet insurance plan but definitely do your homework first.

very good with a few moderations

Having pet insurance gives me confidence for the future of my beloved Daisy. She's middle aged and I worry about the aging process but having ASPCA lessens my concern. Two things I would like: more provision for preventative care -faster turn around time for payments- Most Docs want payment up front and I'm on a fixed income -I take care of Daisy but I have to cut back on my own meds(and I'm 80) until my claim is paid.

Hip problem

I have five cats so having pet insurance is important to me. You never know when something will happen so having pet insurance really helps. I had one of my cats needing medical attention that was beyond just routine care in the past few months. This was very expensive but with the insurance it made the whole experience more affordable.
