Your pet will die before you get the reimbursement you need to help it

First off, ASPCA surprisingly does not care about you or your pet. If claim processing times take a month...HIRE MORE PROCESSORS. Secondly, This insurance is only for the upper middle class to wealthy, the people that can afford to wait 1-2 months for the reimbursement money to come through and still have enough to pay for 4-figure vet bills. If you are an avg income, you will be going into serious debt with Care Cash, your credit score will tank from not being able to repay your credit cards in a timely manner or you may be faced with having to euthanize your pet because the bills cannot be paid by that money you were waiting to be reimbursed for. I have been a customer for 3 years. I have paid all of my monthly payments on time. I have called 2x and the customer service rep said, "oh we will put a special note on your claim so the processes know to look at yours next." a single income household still waiting for my submitted documents to even be reviewed. My golden has a tumor found in his chest cavity. I wanted to save him so I drove him to the local university to be operated on. The oncology and surgery bill ran me $8,000 and the on-going chemo treatments are about $555. I have used my saving, started a GoFundMe, and have been selling possessions to help cover all the bills. What i cannot cover is going on credit cards. I have been waiting for even one of my submitted documents to leave the "queued" phase for 30 days. My dog still needs 4 more chemo treatments and all the blood panels from the local vet. The $4,000 I am waiting to be reimbursed could save my dogs life as I am at all my credit limits. Please, save yourself the tears and anguish of sitting on the claims page of ASPCA refreshing and refreshing, thinking that you are a priority and find another Pet Insurance.

Claims processing time

My only complaint is the length of time it takes for claims to be reviewed and processed.

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
