OK Insurance, not great, not too bad

Representatives are nice and polite. The process is easy to follow. The premium is affordable. The "80% of reasonable Charge" is not good. I compared several vets in my area, they all charge the similar price, but ASPCA considers all of them over charged, so I really get reimbursed 50%-70%. Don't know where ASPCA get their standard of charges for my area. ASPCA should provide a list of vets in each area that do not "over charge" patients, that will make their decision more acceptable. First month after activate insurance, the health issues are not covered, this should be improved. The puppies that were checked by vet before go to new home at 8 weeks of age, and was checked right after arrive the new home(next day?) should be immediately covered, unless the illness happened within first month of insurance is determined by vet as an existing issue started before Insurance was bought. Puppies are very like babies, need extra care, that is why I buy insurance for them. One month no cover but still need to pay premium is really not right.

Taking the curse off pet health expenses

My 2 german shepherd dogs suffered from severe itching since September 2010. It was very difficult getting to the root cause of their symptoms finally in April 2011. Pollen or mold allergy was first suspected, then food allergy. After many veterinarian visits and symptom treatment a visit to the recommended canine dermatologist repeated the skin scraping test (negative again) but he deduced that their symptoms were most like scabies. This treatment cured their itching. ASPCA Pet Insurance came thru with timely reimbursement to cover much of the veterinarian and medication expenses. The only dissappointment is that even after meeting my deductable the insurance covered only a portion of the remaining expenses. Despite this disappointment, pet health insurance reimbursement more than paid for the insurance premium so I believe it is very cost effective.

Great peace of mind

Winnie is truly my child in a dog suit. Having this insurance gives me the peace of mind to know that I would never have to make a decision based on finances (not that I ever would!!). I have been fortunate to only have had to file one claim. Reimbursement was fast. Great plan, affordable. Wouldn't want to be without it.

Peace Of Mind

We got pet insurance for our active Australian Shepherd Koda after multiple visits to the Vet in his 1st few years. Our policy gives us peace of mind as he has visited the vet very few times since we got the policy which we look at as a good thing. The policy is there to aid us if ever there is a major or serious event.

Insurance response ws a pleasant surprise.

Our dog was unable to eat and had no energy. After treatment and overnight stay in the clinic she began to respond and was soon herself again. We had no idea what the charges for her care would be but were very pleased that we had SPCA Pet Insurance. The company responded quickly and with no hassle.
