Peace of mind

I've worked for a veterinarian for 24 years and it's nice to have peace of mind knowing I having a great pet insurance company for my dog Rosie. When Rosie had to make a trip to the emergency last month, not only did ASPCA Pet Insurance respond quickly, a representative called me to ask how Rosie was doing. Thank You ASPCA Pet Insurance.

Recommend Hartville

My wife and I don't have children so our Yorkie bailey islike our child. When we first brought Bailey home she fell off the bed and broke her paw. It was then that we got our first taste of the Vet bill portion of pet ownership. Ever since then we have had pet insurance. We have been lucky in that our dog has been healthy but has had some issue requiring vet visits. We feel the rates and reimbursement is fair and the reimbursement time has always been timely. Candidly, we have the insurance mostly for catastrophic things when Bailey gets older. For what you pay, I think it is good piece of mind and we would never be without it for bailey or any pet we may have in the future.

Some is Better than None.

We adopted our Dachsund mixed puppy from the animal shelter when he was only 4-months old. Knowing he was a stray with no history or background, we were concerned with what medical conditions would accompany him. First week we had him, he came down with "kennel cough." Then the next month, a rash, followed by Coccidia, Pancreatitis and Giardia within the first six months of adopting him. We live in Orange County, CA and we searched for a vet that fell within the acceptable range of costs that ASPCA covered. Still have not found one that comes close. However, the claims we've submitted have been covering about 60-70% of the cost, which is better than nothing as we have spent well over the cost to have the insurance and then some. So we definitely don't regret getting pet insurance, and the deductible is $100 annually. I would have to agree with another reviewer about the pre-existing conditions and renewal of the insurance resetting the clock.

Safety net for my pets

ASPCA pet insurance provides security for my pets. Although the plan requires to pay the bill up front, the customer receives reimbursement within a reasonable amount of time. My husband and I have never had a problem submitting a claim and the money we get back after required deductions is well worth the monthly payments. We would suggest pet insurance for anyone that owns an animal because accidents happen all the time and sometimes you may not be financially prepared to handle the expensive fees.

So glad we have ASPCA Insurance!!

When we decided to get pet insurance on our 2 Weimaraners ages (now) 8 & 10, we had no idea how much we would be using it. Our 10 year old has been tested, re-tested and prescribes medications for cushings disease. This is not something curable, but can be managed through medication and constant moniter with the vet. Needless to say, this insurance has been a money saver. We had already covered various problems with the 8 year old. Thank goodness we took the "long-Term care" that caries over year to year.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
