ER visit

After having ASPCA pet insurance for years with no major incidents, our dachshund had an "edible teeth-cleaning treat" become lodged like a cork in his intestines. The $5,000 claim was processed promptly and with the 80%reimbursement we were able to pay a good portion of the credit card bill when it arrived. I had a positive experience with the reimbursement process. I am concerned about the pre-existing clause should our dachshund ever face an injury or illness that carries over the policy renewal period.

It takes the pain out of the vet bill

I was quite worried about my dog and what was srong with her. I would have taken her to the vet (we were on vacation at the time) in any case.Tracy was clearly uncomfortable. But it really helped to know that I would not have to pay the entire bill. And luckily she got over the esophagitis in a week.

need on-line claim facility

I've been very happy with the pet insurance, but find the claims procedure a bit slow. I would like to be able to claim online

Unfortunately under insured.

I have two cats insured with ASPCA. I am satisfied with the response to the claims that I have submitted for them.I have a membership with this organization and totally support your work. My cat, Rudy has been diagnosed with high grade Lymphoma about a year ago. Unfortunately, I did not have enough insurance on him at that time. I did receive a check for the limit of his coverage ($1500)for this occurance. Since then I have had expenses exceeding $10,000. I know that this is my responsibility for not having him insured enough, and do not hold this against ASPCA insurance. I only wish that there was an option during this illness. It is a difficult financial situation to be in, but he is doing well and as I'm sure that you realize Rudy's health and comfort are what really matters. Thank you.

Grateful for ASCPA Health Insurance for my dog

My dog was diagnosed with bone cancer early in Feb. Since it is a fast acting cancer I had to make quick decisions regarding her treatment. It was very helpful to me knowing that I had health insurance for her so while I had to consider the financial implications I knew that I had some protection for her. This allowed me to think more about the treatment than the cost. Once she had her surgery - she had to have her front right paw amputated - she had a difficult recovery at first. Many of her original expenses and extra expenses were covered. This was a great deal of help to me financially not to mention peace of mind. I was able to choose her treatment based upon what I thought was best for her. I'm happy to say that today 3 1/2 months later she is doing well, in good spirits and no sign of the cancer coming back. We hope things stay that way. I should also mention that I didn't purchase this insurance until she was almost 11 years old. I don't recommend that but I was surprised that I was able to get her coverage at that advanced age. My claims were processed quickly and any time I've spoken to a customer support person they have been very kind and helpful. I have recommended to all my friends who are pet owners that they should seriously consider purchasing pet insurance.
