By Far One of the Best Investments!!

Just last month our 9 month Pitbull puppy Cali had a scare when she somehow got ahold of some really strong glue and swallowed some of it. A week later she had stopped eating and going to the bathroom. So finally on our second visit to the vet with her they told us the next steps to figure out what was wrong - x-rays, blood work, maybe surgery - and proceeded to tell us the costs associated with these services. Our dogs and cat are family, and for family there are no limits. We would have done anything for our baby girl at that point. We wanted our puppy well again. We agreed to have x-rays done...which revealed a full tummy on a dog that hadn't eaten in almost a full week. This brought us to the inevitable surgical procedure that would allow the veterinarian to remove a softball-sized ball of this glue from Cali's stomach. But before this even took place there was the discussion of how we would pay for this costly procedure.Fortunately I had signed up both of our dogs for insurance back in May of this year and the vet's office was more than helpful in helping us fill out the insurance claim form. I must say that the little amount of money we have spent since May on the monthly premiums for our dogs ($10 for each) is nothing compared to the relief I felt when I opened my email this past Saturday (about 2 weeks after it all happened) to see that the claim was completed and even more so when I read the Explanation of Benefits document in the Member Center and found out the am

ASPCA Pet Ins. allows Emergency Vet Visit

I didn't hesitate to bring Cauliflower over to the Vet when we discovered she had a gaping hole on her backside, because I knew that I had insurance that would cover a good percentage of the bill. Cauliflower was at the same Emergency vet a couple of years ago, and it was the first experience with ASPCA Pet Insurance. I was satisfied with their decision, and that is why I continued with them. I feel they are fair in their reimbursement policies.

Glad I insured my rescue German Shepherd

We adopted Shawnee from a rescue organization when she was 4 1/2 years old and recovering from a fractured leg. Her former owner had not kept her on leash when out walking. We decided to get pet insurance for the first time and looked at 2 or 3 plans...ASPCA compared favorably. Two months ago, Shawnee had GDV, or Bloat, and had emergency surgery. We took money out of savings to pay the vet, and it was a blessing to have 80% of that expense reimbursed by our pet insurance. I volunteer with German Shepherd Rescue of NE, and we do discuss pet insurance with our adopters; many don't know it's available.

Every little bit helps!!

I feel more secure about going to the vet, knowing that the burden of expense will be offset a little bit by insurance.

RIP-OFF!!! say NO to ASPC Pet Insurance

I am the sad owner of this pet insurance policy. My Collie had a gastric attack that required emergency vet care. He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and deathly ill. Total cost was $2,400. I was confident that his pet insurance would take care of 90% of the bill. WHAT A JOKE! I submitted the claim and did not hear for nine weeks. I had to call customer service and although I had submitted the billing statement from the vet, they wanted more info from the vet. Never contacted me, and so I waited and waited and waited. NEXT JOKE- They reinbursed 1,571.00 because that was the anual limit! They tell you about lifetime limits but never about annual limits. WHAT A RIP-OFF!!! Now I can look elsewhere, but this condition will not be covered.PEOPLE, THEY ONLY COVER A PERCENT OF EACH MEDICAL CHARGE. BUYER BEWARE!!! I have another provider-24 PetWatch- on my Sheltie and they are the best. Fast turnaround, refund exactly what I expect.
