Caine

I love having ASPCA Pet Insurance. I have had coverage for almost 8 years now. The little I pay in premiums gives me peace of mind that my loving Rottweiler will be well taken care of should any kind of medical emergency arise. The few small claims we have had have been reimbursed in a timely manner. Keep up the good work!

Macie

My dog Macie got sick in October. I took her to the vet, which can generate a scary bill. I start with a few services to see if that would make her feel better, which it did. I submitted my claim form and a check arrived a few weeks later.

Not a happy customer - ASPCA ridiculous

THIS IS A SCAM!I have three cats and pay for level 4 insurance for them. Just recently submitted a claims of ($400.00) for my 1yo cat for neutering. After all the "disallowed" item ie blood test, and annual deductible I got $66.00 back. I too ask them to give me a list of "customary cost for my area in SF" and was told that they couldn't give me this info. Will definitely shop for another pet insurer.

The Importance of having insurance for your pets)

I have had the joy of owning four Beagles, the latest onebeing Lady, a Tennessee rescue that I adopted through the Anti Cruelty Society two years ago. She is the joy of my life! As soon as I could, I enrolled her in Pet Insurance. I have enrolled all of my pets because you never know when you will need to have it. The insurance has helped to pay for surgery as well as some office visits of my pets and while it doesn't cover everything, it is wonderful to know there is help for our four legged friends when it's really needed. I had overlooked the fact that Pet Insurance covers the annual exam and certain tests. I found out when they called me from Pet Insurance to let me know I was indeed eligible to have part of Lady's bill paid. As I live on Social Security, this was indeed a blessing.

ASPCA

I have generally had nothing but success with my pet insurance. There are pretty quick to turn around claims and generally fair with what items they cover. One thing that would be nice to have from them is a list of "reasonable" costs for things in my area (there is usually a $5 -$10 difference per item) so I could make a more informed decsion on my pet care provider and making sure my costs are covered.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
ASPCA Pet Health Insurance®, provided by Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group through its licensed agency, C&F Insurance Agency, Inc., is committed to improving animal care across the U.S. by making veterinary care more affordable for pet parents. Their Complete Coverage(SM) plan covers accidents, injuries, illnesses and more, and features simplified reimbursement based on percentage of invoice.  Preventive Care is available at an additional cost.
