Good coverage

I wish they covered recurring illnesses but other than that I'm satisfied. It's a comfort to know my dog has insurance if something major is ever wrong with him.

Experiences & issures with ASPCA pet insurance

The dogs I currently have are the first of 8 previous dogs I've purchased insurance for. I've use the insurance for my Puggle puppy three times before she was 6 months old for gastro-intestional issues with medication. The first claim was large due to testing for the cause. It was a significant amount of money even after the deductable was applied. It took a total of 4 times of my Vet having to fax the medical records and me having to call three times before they could be found in your office. So it took almost 3 months for the claim to be completed. I was never contacted that there was a problem & only discovered it when I was notified that the claim had been denied because you didn't have the medical records. I'm on a limited budget and my vet is not willing to wait 3 months for their part of the payment. Needless to say this claim was not very satisfying and placed me in a very difficult position financially, which is what I hoped to avoid by purchasing the insurance. The other claims went smoothly and were paid within 3 weeks. Was this because I complained long & loud? I don't know, we'll see if/when I file amother claim. I am considering changing insurance providers, haven't made a decesion yet. I am going to recommend ASPCA to other pet owners only because there is no "we'll wait & see" choice.

Satisfied

I have had several dogs on the halth plan for a number of yrs. Meagan, a Jack Russell has an ongoing liver condition that has to have blood work done several times a yr. With a little extra paper work from my vet the claim has always been settled in a timely fashion. The rest of my dogs have been to the vet for various reasons and no problems with the claims. I woul reccomend this health plan.

thank you.

We have had PetsHealth Insurance for all of our dogs. Not so much for the normal vet expenses -- in fact I frequently don't think to file a claim for those -- but as an aid for any accident or extreme illnesses. We had such an incident recently when 14 year old Belle Lune developed Vestibular Syndrome while she was being at the Vet's. She was treated in those initial stages with IV fluids and with antibiotics. Belle is now home and as recovered as she is going to be. Still can't manage stairs, but otherwise navigates fairly well. I put in the claim along with all requested records and received an email that informed us that everything had been received and that we would be receiving a check soon. and it took about two weeks which is a vast improvement over previous claim settlements.
