Thanks for all you have done

Never figured I would really ever have to use this insurance-just took it as an added precaution but boy am I glad I did. Without it I would have not been able to help my dog. Thank you.

Satisfactory

The only thing i don't like is paying out of pocket first, the purpose of getting insurance was to have peace of mind thaty pets would not suffer because i did not have an abundance of cash

Overall, ASPCA Insurance was Helpful

My beloved Calico Kalli suffered from diarrhea, vomiting and probable kidney trouble from August 2011 thru February 2012 and recently I had to make the difficult decision to let her go. Overall, I was gratified for the ASPCA pet insurance which did ease my mind a great deal once the bills started mounting. Submitting claims is very easy, but I did wish that the processing was a bit speedier. However, I was grateful for the emails confirming receipt of my claims and then subsequent ones which confirmed that they were processed. I do recommend any/all pet owners to get insurance and if/when I do get another cat - I will definitely use ASPCA pet insurance once again.

I COULD AFFORD SURGERY W/ASPCA INSURANCE

I knew having a giant dog would pose severe financial constraints if anything ever happened to my Oliver. As a pet lover, I too want to keep my baby healthy as long as possible. My question to myself; Did I want to put my beloved pet "to sleep" only because of an issue of money? I was faced with that choice when Oliver tore his ACL, and ASPCA helped me provide the veterainary care needed: major orthopedic surgery and alot of followup care and meds. I've had this insurance for 4 years and 2 of those years the insurance has definitely paid for itself. Customer service staff has been extremely helpful with my or vet's questions, and payment in timely manner when all documents provided. Yes the plan only pays 80%, but the peace of mind it offers far outways my financial contribution. Just wish they would offer pre-existing condition with policy w/pet that has been with the plan. Will I continue the plan for Oliver and would I purchase plan for future animals? Absolutely!

Gives me peace of mind

ASPCA pet insurance is comprehensive (depending on level) and reasonable. Service is friendly and helpful, and claims processing is fairly straightforward and timely. I do wish their standard fees for various procedures were more in line with charges in my area (Boston), I.e. reimbursement could definitely be more generous.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
