Scam Artists

My dog was very sick and vomitting constantly. I took her to the vet and he did x-rays on her and noticed she ingested a metal staple. This occured on December 26, 2011. The vet didn't want to immediately do surgery on the dog (which would cost over $2,000) so he instructed me to give her plenty of bread and milk to hopefully surround the staple and make it pass through her safely. We need to go back for a follow up visit on January 3, 2012 to make sure the foreign body passed through. He did an x-ray and thankfully the staple passed through. No surgery needed. NOW here we go.... ASPCA covered 80% of "allowable" costs for the visit in December. But ZERO for the visit in January because it was a pre-existing condition. What was I supposed to do - put the dog in surgery right away so it won't be a pre-existing condition in 6 days?? It was a follow up vist and cost me $700 and I got zero reimbursed. Needless to say I cancelled my policy and went to Pet Plan Insurance. Sneaky sneaky sneaky.

It is a life saver

I rescused my Shelby when she was 10 weeks old. I decided to get pet insurance and sure glsd I did. We were at a dog park to socialize her and while she was playing with another 6 month old puppy, a large dog ran across the park and attacked her while another jumped in. Sometime later we were at another dog park and a pit bull came up and just attacked her. Then a month later she was attacked by a pack of six dogs. Needless to say she received her worse injuries. But without the insurance I would have had a very large bill that I would have had trouble paying for, with the overnight stay, surgery, drain tube and meds. It was the best thing I ever did getting insurance.

Satisfied with ASPCA pet insurance.

My boxer is only 13 months old and I have already submitted 3 claims. The insurance has helped me take proper care of him. Has really helped making his care affordable.

Huge Financial Help

We have had ASPCA pet insurance for about a year now and have been pleased so far. After watching many family pets incur expensive medical costs, when we adopted our cat Oscar, we figured insurance would be a useful thing to have. Earlier this year, Oscar required a trip to the emergency vet with a UTI and after we submitted the claim, we received about 80% of the costs back from ASPCA. Not only did we receive financial support, but ASPCA also called to check in on Oscar and make sure our needs were met for the claim. That was a nice personal touch and of course financially, the claim reimbursement was a huge help. ASPCA really showed us that they were committed to making sure Oscar's care was covered. Also, the initial reimbursement check got lost in the mail and ASPCA automatically sent another one after giving it 30 days to show up, without requiring me to call back multiple times! I really appreciated that they were paying close attention to our file and making sure things were taken care of.We have just adopted another kitty, Emma, and immediately put her on the insurance plan with Oscar in case she needs coverage. So far, so good!
