Great Experience So Far

My pet was adopted at age 2, I have had this insurance since, starting in 2005. I have submitted about 8 to 10 claims and I have not had any arguments or issues regarding coverage on any of them. An example of a claim is one I put in for around $1,000 I got back $600.00. I had to pay the $250.00 deductible, then they cover 80% (based on my plan), I pay $28.00 a month. I have increased my coverage as she has gotten older. They don't cover nail clippings, grooming or heartworm and flea.

A company that cares about you and your pet

I was already very happy with ASPCA insurance due to fair reimbursements in a timely manner. Then, I lost my dog to cancer. When I submitted the claims and requested cancellation of policy, I received two very nice cards and a phone call AND an email expressing sympathy. I was so impressed. Everything was processed smoothly for that last claim. I feel like there are real people who love animals there....CPU Don't recommend more highly.

Improving their Claims Department

To be honest, I was not satisfied at all with ASPCA Pet Insurance when I first joined. The rates seemed to be climbing and they didn't cover very much. I had a long, drawn out dispute about Rusty's medication which I eventually won but it took a couple years off my life. Their policy renewal could be spelled out much better up front and they should make it easier to understand. Recently, I had a serious situation with 12 y.o. Rusty (who I'm paying more than $50/month for). The total vet bill was nearly $3000 and ASPCA paid me more than $1700 back. I think it's important to mention actual numbers so you can anticipate how much this insurance carrier will really cover. If I hadn't got at least that, I certainly would have dropped the policy. But they sent me that check pretty quickly and I didn't have to argue with a single rep to get it. That will keep me as a customer.

Nightmare

While it doesn't cover everything, it sure is nice to know that some of the bills will be paid! Nightmare had a $2600 dental bill, and you guys at least helped put a major dent in the cost! He says thank you because he's his cuddly deranged self playing without pain- and he just celebrated his 10th birthday!

Peace of mind knowing it's there when I need it

We all know how expensive medical bills can be if we don't carry insurance. I've never had pet insurance before but always knew it is something every pet owner should'nt be without. After having to go to the Vet a few times and paying the enormous bill, I figured it was time to look into this. Due to the age of my Boston Terrier (12), ASPCA was the only provider that had reasonable rates. As a matter of fact, other providers wouldn't even accept her because of her age even though she has never had any serious illness or accident. However, now that she is getting up there in age, I fugure something serious will eventually happen. About 4 months after I got the insurance she had a shoulder injury, The claim process was very simple and quick. Even though I carry the higest coverage with the highest deductible, that one visit took care of that deductible. Now, if she has to be seen again this year, I have "peace of mind knowing it's there when I need it" and, 90% of any furture bill will be covered.
