Improving their Claims Department
To be honest, I was not satisfied at all with ASPCA Pet Insurance when I first joined. The rates seemed to be climbing and they didn't cover very much. I had a long, drawn out dispute about Rusty's medication which I eventually won but it took a couple years off my life. Their policy renewal could be spelled out much better up front and they should make it easier to understand.
Recently, I had a serious situation with 12 y.o. Rusty (who I'm paying more than $50/month for). The total vet bill was nearly $3000 and ASPCA paid me more than $1700 back. I think it's important to mention actual numbers so you can anticipate how much this insurance carrier will really cover. If I hadn't got at least that, I certainly would have dropped the policy. But they sent me that check pretty quickly and I didn't have to argue with a single rep to get it. That will keep me as a customer.
