Glad we had it

Our 10 month pup became very ill with pneumonia type symptoms. It took over 6 weeks and many tests and treatments before Baily was back to normal. The total bill was over $2000. We submitted the bills in two separate payments and probably were reimbursed for about 2/3 the total bill. In the past we have poo-pooed pet insurance but was very glad we had it this time. My main complaint was it took Several weeks for the claims to go thru and the webpage where you can monitor progress is very confusing. We have only had the insurance for less than a year so don't know about the problems with pre-existing conditions clause, although we have Level 3 and I believe that is a continuing care plan.

allergy pom

my dog has had numerous allergy-related ear, tonsil, infections.my Vet decided to get to the root of the problem, which is allergies. She had my dog tested to see what she is allergic to and is now taking shots for desensitization to what she is allergic to. I now have changed her diet to a grain free diet and she is beginning to improve remarkably. I appreciate this insurance for I would have not been able to financially fund this myself. It has really benefited my allergy-prone pom! In the long run, less vet bills for tonsillitis!!

Waste of Time and Money

I thought people insurance was bad; these folks will do anything to get out of paying. Took me months to just get denied and for puppy stuff and I had the 90% plus plan....all the minute excuses for not reimbursing me and having a different start date on file as well. I also had to keep resubmitting my claims because they couldn't read the one's I faxed, the Vet invoices that gave details wasn't enough they had to get the Vets "notes", wouldn't cover a preexisting condition for a puppy with Giard. Don't waste your time or money!!!

I feel this company has betrayed me and my pet.

I have had this insurance for 11 years and have not sent any claims until last year and only a few. After being insured with you her whole life when she is treated for one thing, she is no longer insured for that one ailment. Being insured all these years with you has prevented me from having real insurance coverage on my pet now when I need it. So as long as I paid the premium with no claims you take my money but when I need the coverage you drop her from the coverage she needs. Now at her age it is hard to find another insurance but I will. I sure wish I had been insured with another company all these past years.

Best Investment To Safeguard Our Pet's Health

We have had our Golden Retriver's health, accident & wellness insurance through ASPCA since she was 3 years old. Over the past six years, whenever there was an illness, accident or wellnes exam ASPCA was there to help pay the bills. Over the past 3 years, our pet has experienced a bladder infection, ear infections,a gastro problem [most probably caused by the dry dog food she was on which the mfr had a recall],& a sprained front paw from stepping in a mole hole while running in an open field. ASPCA never failed to live up to their advertised promises.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
