Quick Payment, and Great Customer Service

I have had pet insurance for my dog with ASPCA for around 2 years. I haven't had to file a claim until recently but feel the money is well spent, because each month, I'm making a payment to the ASPCA. Who better to give your money to?I filed a claim last month, and ASPCA responded within a few days confirming a payment was sent. The amount they paid for my dog's pet visit was more than fair. I received payment within a couple of days.

Shot while out exploring

Our Dew is a curious cat. Whenever there is anything happening our Dew is there. He went out on a beautiful Saturday morning in mid November and didn't return. We heard gunshots in the distance, but didn't think they were near enough to be of any danger to our animals. However, Dew didn't come home for 2 days. When we finally found him holed up in our garage, we were so happy to see him, but soon realized there was a big problem. We thought perhaps he had been mauled by coyotes. We rushed him to the vet first thing in the morning where it was discovered he had not 1 but 2 gunshot wounds with the bullet still logged in his neck. The vet was astonished that the bullet hadn't hit any vital organs in his back, nor any arteries. He did however have a shattered scapula. They determined that it was really one bullet that hit him. It went in his side, skimmed upward about 5 to 6 inches, exited his body but reentered at his shoulder, shattered his scapula and logged in his neck just under the skin. They needed to treat him for the infection that had already set in and after 10 days referred us to a Vet in Albuquerque, NM 300 miles away. When we got there the Vet looked at how well he was doing and thought at first that the xrays he had received had exaggerated the damage. Upon review of new xrays he determined that the surgery must be done immediately. To leave it as it was would mean Dew would lose his front leg within less than a year. We agreed to nearly $3000.00 for

Swift, attentive and compassionate.

I have nothing but good things to say. My claim was processed quickly and I received a follow up call to check in and see how Harley was recovering. I am very happy with ASPCA!

Thank God we have this insurance

Our bichon Snowball was diagnosed with a fibrosarcoma on his knee at a young age and had to have surgery. Because of his history, he has to have surgery every time he grows a lump. So far he's had several, one of which was another fibrosarcoma. These have been low grade and the vet doesn't know why he keeps growing them - he had to have ultrasounds and CT to make sure no internal tumors but all is good. Neeless to say this has cost a small fortune and I can't thank my sister enough for recommending we get this insurance back when we first became "dog parents". We have 3 dogs and have needed to use it for at least one of my other dogs as well.

Wont question the necessity of pet insurance again

Thought to myself - does a dog really need insurance? Seems like a ridiculous waste of money. Well, after my pup started eating every sharp and non-digestible item in my house I caved and decided that $10/mo is better than $3000 to remove a mechanical pen from her colon. Anyway, I never used it to remove a pen but when another dog attacked her I was grateful for that insurance. Reimbursement was quick. They covered almost everything and saved me from forking out more than $600 of my savings in vet bills. Won't question this monthly expense anymore.
