Really pleased with ASPCA!

My cat became very ill and it took a number of trips to the vet (and expensive diagnostics including X-rays, scans, blood work, etc...) to determine the cause of his distress. Eventually he required surgery to remove several bladder stones. We submitted multiple claims to ASPCA and were thrilled by the amount that was covered. Due to their website not allowing us to submit claims online (images of the claims were not legible) we ended up having to mail in the paper copies. Because of these issues, the claims processed was quite delayed. However, we ended up with a substantial refund and were very, very impressed!

Pet insurance is a must for any loving pet owner!

After having two dogs for 12 years with no pet insurance, I learned the hard way how expensive pet medical bills can be. After my two furbabies crossed over the rainbow bridge, I found myself with two cats, or I should say they found me. I immediately went shopping for pet insurance. After deciding on ASCPA Pet Health Insurance, a few years went by before one of my cats developed a serious bladder problem. She needed immediate surgery. It was successful and she survived, but it was costly. ASPCA was right there to cover 80 percent of the medical bills in a very timely manner. They even did follow up calls to see how my cat was doing. I was blown away. It's not too often you get service like that from any company! Since then I've had to use my pet insurance for other cat illnesses and each time I've been pleasantly surprised with ASPCA's amazing customer service. If you a have a pet in your family, I would highly recommend them!

People Who Are Truly Concerned Pet's Well Being

My 4-year-old orange rescue tabby, Gabby, had an unknown first year of his life, possibly as a street cat, so he had six (!!!) teeth decayed by the time he was four. We didn't know he would need six removed when he went in for surgery--we thought it was just two--but they noticed more decay as they operated. Needless to say, the surgery was way more expensive than we expected, so I was relieved that we had signed on for this insurance. Our claim was processed and refunded quickly and efficiently. But the best part is that the staff at this pet insurance company TRULY cares about your pets. They will always do a follow-up call to ask about your pet(s) after a claim is processed. I'm so pleased with this insurance, that I've recently signed on our newly adopted cat, Merritt. Hopefully they stay happy & healthy, but if there's an issue, I'm glad that this insurance has us and them covered! THANK YOU! Cait

Glad we have pet insurance!

My dog was diagnosed with a very rare infection and he's currently undergoing treatment and has for the past 9 months! The treatment is very expensive and having ASPCA coverage has helped defray the cost of the treatments. I've been very happy with the speed of getting reimbursements and pleased with direct deposit. Wish they had a mobile app to make submission of receipts easier. Also, being in Southern CA, I wish that ASPCA would adjust their permissible rates - this isn't like people insurance where the doctors agree to a specific amount. We are stuck paying whatever the doctor charges and then we are limited by what ASPCA considers to be reasonable ... so while I pay for the plan to get 80% reimbursement, it averages to be MUCH LESS than 80% but it's better than nothing!

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
