Happier now with my aspca insurance.

When we first started I was a little upset that they hardly paid us anything for a claim but then I realized about the deductible clause. Since I reached that amount things have been better and we are getting payments back on claims. ASPCA insurance has always been truthful with us and we are glad to have this insurance especially now that our dog is getting older and has a certain problem right now that is a long lasting one I think

I have had ASPCA health Insurance for my cockapoo dog for the past year. They have reimbursed me for claims that I have sent in for various aliments . I have found them to be a great pet insurance provider, and would highly recommend them to others.

I'd give it a 0 if I could

Plan period ran January 1-January 1. My dog was diagnosed with severe anemia in mid December. Initial testing showed no causation. They finally did a bone marrow aspiration in January which showed autoimmune disease. The expensive test was not covered because of a clause in the contract "coverage for any illness will not continue into the next plan period". Therefore, even though I paid about $900/year for their fancy Level 4 plan with $7000 in coverage, and my premiums automatically continued into the new plan year, they would not cover the bone marrow aspiration. They denied me before we even had a diagnosis. What good is any insurance plan if the possibility exists that they will only give you 2 weeks (as in my case), to clear up the problem? After many phone calls to customer service, they finally allowed me to purchase a "continuing care" add on, if I paid all of the premiums for 2015 and paid an additional $100 deductible. Did I mention I already paid $900 for the $7000 plan? What a deal. This company is terrible, and the public should know that they do these things. I wouldn't have a problem with a time limit on the duration of coverage for any given problem, but as long as the premiums are paid continually year after year, that time limit shouldn't be factored by the end of the plan period. It's the luck of the draw, and that's not fair.

Best reason to have insurance for your pet

Following my first Lab's untimely rainbow bridge crossing from bone cancer almost 20 years ago, I got health insurance for my next lab, with another company. He eventually passed at the Lab-ripe age of 18 from histiosarcoma. After 13 years dealing with that agency, coverage was denied based on fine print written in several 5-point size disclaimers allowing the company to interpret anything they wanted. Needless to say, I will never, ever, deal with these folks again. Enter ASPCA Health Insurance. I initially went in with trepidation but my vets were enthusiastic about them. I've been with them now for seven years and it has been superb. My dog was a rescue who had been abused and neglected so he needed extra care, initial medical treatment, etc. Insurance coverage was excellent. Fast forward six years and my furry son had a serious accident falling during an ice storm that made roads, driveways and our yard into an ice skating rink. Two days of emergency care, several orthopedic specialists, pain and inflammation drug cocktails, and now therapy. I can't extol the positives of ASPCA insurance enough. They have been superb in every respect. I even got a call from one of their agents as to how my dog was doing. Reimbursement processing actions have been coming in as fast as 48 hours after claim placement. I wish my own health insurance was that efficient. Top notch.
