ASPCA cares about our two Labs; Sparky and Pluggy

WE have had ASPCA Insurance for about 18 months now and have had claims for check ups and illnesses for both dogs. Pluggy recently developed diabetes and ASPCA is not only helping with our bills, but they call to check in on the guys. My own health insurance doesn't do that! I appreciate their quick claim processing, as well as the transparent manner in which they produce their claim response.

ASPCA experience

I prefer ASPCA Insurance over other providers and have been an ASPCA policy holder for over 5 years. Pros: great portal, speedy claim processing and follow up. Cons: Reimbursement amounts could be higher. I usually get about 60 cents for every dollar spent.

Never Regretted Obtaining Pet Insurance

I have had ASPCA Pet insurance since I brought my baby boy, Bubba, home. It helped when I had him neutered and then when he started having knee issues, the insurance was extremely helpful in covering the expenses that we had for PT, meds, X-rays, and follow-up trips to the vet. Unfortunately, we were not able to keep Bubba from completely tearing his TTL. He had the surgery and the insurance coverage was extremely helpful in covering a large portion of the over $5000 worth of bills.

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). Rates vary based on species, age, breed, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee. Accident-Only coverage available.
