AKC | Pet Insurance Review

I highly highly do not recommend this insurance. We purchased this insurance the day after we purchased our puppy and thought we were in the clear when he experienced health problems, however just like most insurance companies they always find a way to get out of paying your claim. This insurance claims they will cover the costs of vet visits for UTI and ultrasound just to name a few, but guess again they won't. Get this insurance if you would like to pay extra money for no reason on top of your already expensive vet bills otherwise, look elsewhere. There is a reason this insurance is cheaper than others and it shows. I wish I would have known prior to so here I am warning others after me.

I have been with AKC Pet Insurance since 2008- they have insured many of my dogs for years. I would never consider changing to another carrier. They always have my pets best interest at heart. They really hire the best people ~ when you call in they are attentive and caring. They make suggestions and never get upset with the amount of questions you might have. Always a great experience. AKC Insurance you have my business for life.

Each occasion for having to submit a claim I wanted to ensure I submitted correctly. If I had any questions they were answered with thoroughness and were very helpful. Stellar customer service. Best experience always with each and everyone that I spoke with.

Beware the 30 day free insurance. Even when you pick a better plan it doesn’t go into affect until this garbage coverage is over.

Customer service rep over chat informed me I had to wait until my trial coverage ended to extend my plan and when I called back I was told it was too late and that to register for a new plan my premium would be 3.8x the previous one. Said they would not be willing to reinstate grace period even though it is their fault for telling me I had to wait to rejoin a plan.
