Sneaky renewals add exclusions each year.

I paid for AKC petpartners for 3 years & everything was OK until I had claims. It took 2 months to process my first claim, they limited coverage to "reasonable & customary", and their deductible & copay creeped up since I started with them. Most frustrating were added exclusion clauses when I renewed. Bottom line for over $1,200 in treatments I was reimbursed less then $300. Don't do it - This wasn't worth the paper work hassle, years of monthly payments & claims frustration. You are better off to start a monthly savings bond direct deduct to cover unplanned vet expenses in lieu of the monthly payment. Their exclusions are extensive.

Over priced - but good customer service

The policy I bought was overpriced, but the customer service was wonderful. Easy to terminate during the 30 day money back guarantee; one e-mail and the policy was terminated and full refund applied. I would consider them if the premium was affordable.

have been on the plan for almost 2 years

Have never had a claim denied and am almost an obsessive pet owner. If Macy sneezes we go to the vet! Very happy with the coverage. I am on the most expensive plan though.

Over priced and no good

I tried the "free" insurance provided by pet partners, activating it on the morning of March 18th....on April 18th I took my puppy in for Cystitis and got her cared for, but Pet Partners refused to cover the cost of care, saying that my coverage didn't start until the 19th following their "30-day waiting period"...and it took over a month for me to get a response!I am glad I let this coverage lapse and would not recommend this coverage to anyone. PetFirst is much better...go with them!

So far so good with my dog

I purchased the AKC Wellness policy for my new pup and the basic policy for my 3 kittens. They have been very good at paying for his office visits, medications and vaccinations. After the initial annual deduction, they are paying 80% (20% co-pay). Puppies require a great deal of attention (vaccines, heartworm, tick & flea meds, wormcheck) the first year. In two instances they denied payment incorrectly, but I think it is important to give them credit for their quick turnaround when I wrote to them to clarify and they confirmed the information with my vet. The jury is still out on how they respond to a claim for one of my kittens. She was 8-months-old when she suddenly became very ill one evening. I took her to the emergency clinic and transferred her to my regular vet the next morning. Both vets believed she needed surgery for what appeared to be an intestinal obstruction. She was operated on and died after the surgery. After an inconclusive autopsy, my vet has concluded that she had heart disease which could not be detected before hand and ultimately led to her death after the surgery. The combined two vet bills will total just under $3,000, which is the policy limit. We will see if they pay it or not. So, as to my pup a 9. Let you know later about the kitten.
