Very pleased

We only have been enrolled in the plan for a few months when Molly blew out her right rear knee. Knee surgery and our claim was paid promptly following their review of the claim. I am very pleased. Thank

Think Again

I had this insurance, it was horrible. I thankfully found a good insurance provider who actually pays claims promptly and delivers exactly what they say. This is a concept the AKC has failed to learn. They only denied my claims, had very rude customer service, took forever to even process the claims. The caps on the insurance is not adequate should you have a sick pup. Isn't that why we have the insurance? Well it is one of the AKC loop holes in getting out of claim payment. Then the premium increases are ridiculous. Check out other providers since my experience with AKC is horrible. I do not have an excellent provider who pays prompt and has outstanding customer service. My point, don't be fooled with the AKC name. You can have good insurance -- my experience is -- just not with the AKC

Outstanding in every way!

I got Arlo last December as a Christmas gift. He came from the Southwest Washington Humane Society and was about 3 years old. After a month or so after I got him, he developed loose stool and blood in the stool. I took him to my vet and she recommended diet change. I tried that for a few months, but his condition didn't change. The vet said he needed to go to a specialist and get a colonoscopy. The specialist found that Arlo had colitis. He prescribed an antibiotic for a few weeks and Arlo is all better and doing great. AKC paid the full amount of the maximum on my policy ($1500) so I only had a few hundred dollars to pay on my own. I will never have another pet without insurance. $1500 is a lot of money for a retired person, so I'm so thankful that I had the insurance. Thank you AKC-PHP, you're great!!

Better companies out there!

I have had PetPartners for eight years and for the first four years I was very happy with their policy. However, over the past few years, I have bocome very disatisfied. They significantly increase their wellness policy a couple of years ago which made it almost impossible to afford. They do not cover alternative medicine such as acupuncture and chiropracty. I am extremely frustrated by this because my Newfoundland has a neck issue that could be treated much less invasively than conventional medicine. They will pay to put my elderly dog through surgery but will not pay for acupuncture to restore the function of his neck. Also, they will pay for pain and anti-inflammatory medication which will ruin by dogs liver, but they will not pay for herbs and supplements which are much safer alternatives. I have no choice but to keep this company because of the age of my dog and his pre-existing conditions. There are better companies out there that have better coverage, and YES, some companies WILL cover alternative medicine!

Learning Experience

This is the worst insurance, very expensive, very unorganized provider. My experience has been one disappointment after another. They have very many "fine print" exclusions. They represented one thing, clearly delivered another (denied claims). After actually having to utilize this insurance with claims lost by the AKC, rude customer service, denied claims for coverage I thought I had, I cancelled with them and now I have credible coverage with a provider who does not have the "Gimmicks" the AKC does. Good thing I did this since my puppy has dysplasia, the AKC would have never paid for it. My new provider thankfully does and let me tell you I am well over $5,000 in expense. So WATCH OUT for the $5,000 maximum with this provider. Now my pups are in good hands with insurance since the AKC is no longer provides insurance with them. READ, READ and READ again the fine print. Don't fall for the name as I had, because you know what -- the joke was on me.
