not worth the cost of the insurance

I have been paying $38/month for over a year. I chose a $500 deductible. In order to have an exam covered it would be a higher monthly premium. I was aware it does not cover neutering. I did think it covered some medications. My rottie experienced a dog bite and was taken to the ER for an exam, sutures, medication. Three days later he was neutered and had x-rays to rule out hip dysplasia. I was not aware X-rays are not covered if the diagnosis is hip dysplasia. Over the past year I had spent around $3,000 in vet bills. The insurance covered a whopping $18.77. Not worth it. My suggestion is to have a separate account for vet bills and not feed the insurance company.

Positive Experience

This was a very positive experience, both times. I called about the same issue twice, because when I got off the phone the first time, and looked at my notes, I was confused. So I called back to ask some questions.

Can't believe how quickly our claim was processed and paid!

We submitted our invoice for Vet charges for our Boston Terrier who had to have tests and overnight stay at the Vets. I submitted the claim on 5/29, received an acknowledgement on 5/30 and received payment in the mail on 6/4. We could not be happier with AKC Pet Insurance.

Peace of mind

I find that I do not worry about taking my fur baby to the vet at any time. And With the cost of vet care rising, it’s nice to get a little back. I find when I get the refund check back, it’s a nice reminder that I will continue to carry the insurance for the value and peace of mind it brings. There are multiple levels to choose from and you make the choice without any pressure. Pick what you want or need, it’s totally up to you. I just increased one of my policies after 3 years. ( its time for my yearly renewal) this way I can see what has worked or not worked for me over the past year.
