How to Save Money at Fish Creek Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have written this review a dozen times but the words have never been perfect. They never will be. Dr. Theo came in at 2am during a blizzard on the weekend to save my 12 year old German Shepherd when her stomach flipped. He warned me with her age and the statistics she likely wouldn't make it, but he trusted me when I said she had it in her. He bought Kaya another 2 great years of life. He met me on the steps of his clinic after hours when my 14 year old Dalmatian fell into hole while I was hiking. He died moments before I arrived but I was in shock and didn’t believe it. Dr. Theo very gently told me he was gone and helped me wrap him in a blanket to take him home. I decided to cremate him the next day and when I asked his staff if they could X-ray him to see if they could find his cause of death they said they couldn’t (for obvious reasons) but Dr. Theo agreed to do it anyways. It wasn’t easy, but he figured it out, because he knew I had to know. I had three big dogs all for at least 14 years (I still have one of them). I lived in Utah where I was never able to find a vet I trusted. I moved to Jackson 6 years ago and was referred to Fish Creek Veterinary. Best referral ever! I recently moved back to Utah for about 2 years and it’s been very hard having senior dogs and not having a trustworthy vet. I am back in Wyoming again and have a new Great Pyrenees puppy who will be lucky enough to be under Dr. Theo as well. Thank you Dr. Theo, and to all of your staff at Fish Creek Veterinary Clinic. I appreciate every extra day you have given my dogs and the care you provide them in the meantime ❤️

Where do I even start! If I could give them 10 stars I would! I had a pet emergency on my way from Yellowstone to Grand Tetons. Called Fish Creek on a Sunday and was able to meet with Dr. Theo. He was able to ensure me that my pup would be okay and give her some medication to ease her discomfort. We were in the middle of a long road trip so without his help it would have been a long uncomfortable trip for my pup. They called the next day to check In on my pup and she still wasn’t eating. Came back in for another appointment and Dr. Theo took the time to find her some special food that would be easier for her to handle. My only wish is that I lived closer because they would be my vet! Great job Fish Creek and thank you so much!

Theo, and Tina, Katie, Becca and Layla are some of the most loving, caring people you will ever meet. And when it comes to taking care of your family members with four legs there is no better Vet in Jackson. After 10 years my current relationship is ending with them. My dog passed away with the most loving and caring people supporting her until the end. When the time comes, I look forward to creating another long lasting relationship with the wonderful folks at Fish Creek Vet. They love dogs, and it shows! Cats too.

Dr. Theo and his staff are absolutely wonderful! We adopted a puppy and he immediately came down with Parvo. The wonderful staff and Dr. Theo went out of their way to see him and take care of him when no other vet would even give us an appointment. With their care and heroic efforts, our little guy has pulled through and made a full recovery. HIGHLY recommend!
