How to Save Money at Vets & Pets Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr. Reich and his team at Vets and Pets Pet Hospital are awesome. Dr. Reich is the best veterinarian and surgeon I have known in my visit to their practice. He and his staff are professional and provide the highest standards of veterinary care for patients. The hospital is the cleanest and very high standards of hygiene with the state of the art technology. I can only say they are the very best.

So grateful for Dr. Reich and the staff at Vets and Pets!! My senior dog had a large tumor that began to ulcerate. The staff was able to move up his surgery and the care was better than any clinic I’ve been to. They are professional, personable and take pride in their work. Plus…it’s affordable! Thank you for caring for Bojangles!

My dog was there for teeth extractions and a health certificate to fly within the USA. I spent over $1300 and never once saw the Doctor to discuss what he did or anything about my dog’s health. In the 40 years of owning pets and taking them to many different Veterinary Clinics in 7 states, that has never happened before. When I asked if the doctor would talk to me the receptionist said he never does that. I spoke to the vet tech after I paid the bill and she brought me my dog and gave me instructions on how to care for my dog at home and how to give her the drugs they prescribed. As far as I’m concerned I won’t ever go back there. I felt that all they cared about was getting my money and didn’t care about my concerns about asking questions about the healthcare of my pet. It has taken me awhile to write this review because I wanted to wait and think through what happened. My feelings are still the same. My initial visit to see about getting her teeth cleaned and her teeth removed was fine. I saw a Veterinarian Assistant it was a woman explaining that my dog needed 3 teeth removed. She spent maybe 10 minutes examining my dog in another room. I set up a surgery day and they gave me an estimate of costs. I’m sure they treat everyone the same way but to me as a first time customer it was unprofessional. I’m driving 7 hours to her old Veterinarian in North Carolina for my dogs healthcare. I gave 3 stars for Customer Services not for the treatment my dog received.

Dr. Reich is a fantastic doctor. He is awesome with my animals. Shows concern for them when they are hurting. He is thorough with examinations. As far as I’m concerned, he is the best around and will recommend him to anyone.

Went there for the first time to get my puppy his shots. Clean place, everyone was nice, just wish that I could see them do his physical examination instead of taking him to the back. You don't really know if he was actually looked at. Just gotta take their word. Been to vets before where they do everything in the room with you so you know what is really being done. Update: Just for home from second visit for my dog to get his last round of shots. Well, finally met the Dr. Honestly wish I never had. He was very judgemental. Talked down to me like as if I was a child. Mind you, I have a 3 month old Cane Corso who is very sweet and gentle. I don't know if he stereotyped me because of my race with the breed. He asked me so badly questions like where did I get him, what breeder, etc. As if I shouldn't have him. I reassured him that I've had a Pit Bull of almost 100 pounds that was gentle and sweet. He unfortunately died of old age.... I got this puppy from after losing my husband, I wanted companionship and a guardian type dog. This was my last time visiting there.
