How to Save Money at Middletown Animal Clinic Inc
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My visit was sad this time. I had to put my 20 year old cat to sleep. The staff at Middletown Animal Clinic helped to make it as easy as possible. They explained the process to me and I was given some time alone with my kitty before the procedure and was able to be with her as she fell into her forever sleep. It was sad but I do appreciate how the staff was compassionate. I will continue to bring my other pets here. They are upfront with charges and do not sneak other unnecessary charges like some other vets do.

Horrible. We were there 6 times since June with our cat. Paid an enormous amount of money. They supposedly did all kinds of tests This has been going on for 3 months. The vet (Carpenter) said did not know what is going on I asked point blank about diabetes or kidney. She said NO. My cat went from 19 lbs to 10. Went to another vet today and he is in kidney failure Kept him in hospital. Don’t know if they can fix him or not. Told me he has been suffering bad. I have been a customer there since 2006. Took all my animal there. I will never go back unless they don’t send his medical records to this Vet which they requested last week and still don’t have. Requested again today. I really hope I don’t have to go pick them up but I will

Great place, very open about pricing and answer all the questions you have. My dog broke his tooth and the clinic did their best to get him scheduled for a surgery and took really good care of him.

Nothing but love for a clinic that truly loves animals and shows it in their interactions. The tech that had checked us in asked permission to approach my Odin knowing I'm training him! Of course I said yes as my main training focus at the moment is not jumping on everyone for love! Odin is a 6 month old GSD and they took his anxiousness and fear and helped him have an amazing experience 💙 ❤️

This has been my veterinarian for many years. They are amazing at treating your other family members with the kind of love and kindness they would receive at home. I recently got approved for my two dogs to get neutered. I could have chosen any veterinarian, but I went with this vet again. They treated my dogs the best. I dropped them off at 7:30 a.m. they went over the procedure. The grant that covered the neutering only paid for that procedure, a rabies shot, and the medication for that day in the vet's office. I had to purchase additional pain medication and an antibiotic for a skin infection they found on one of my dogs. I was told to pick my boys up around 5:30 p.m. I arrived at 5:15 p.m. and everything was completed and my dogs were ready to come home. The staff went over how everything went and how to treat and care for my boys following the procedure. Again the staff are amazing, it was about day four and they called to check in and see how the dogs were doing. In total I believe I only spent right at $138.00 for two dogs to get neutered and medication. Thank God for the Marion County Humane Society. They helped us out big time with the grant.
