How to Save Money at Milwaukee Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Never going here again. Brought my cat here for the first time. Thought it would be a great experience but it was not. I made an appointment for a check up to see if my cat was healthy. We first met the doctor and everything seemed alr. My cat is a very shy and kind cat. He never attacked anyone. The doctor used strong force and covered him in a towel when my cat didn't need it!!! Not to mention the doctor was pressuring us on the spot for surgery to spay my cat!!! Like... the assistant was sooo kind and patient with us! But the doctor was not!! He barely even checked my cat for health issues. And he never answered any of our questions! All he did was check his ears and that's it!! Made us pay for his actions. They also charge you for a phone call!!!! A PHONE CALL!! And they charge you for questions!! I Never going here again. Would not recommend you coming here if you're young. BECAUSE APPARENTLY THIS DOCTOR WAS JUDGING US FOR BEING TOO YOUNG! And made an assumption that we were rich. I asked him how much would everything in total cost for the surgery and he said "Why?" Like... so ye if you're 1. Young 2. Low income 3. And care about your pet DO NOT COME HERE!!!

The staff was wonderful and understanding as my senior lady was less than thrilled about the visit. She warmed up quickly to the environment and the attention and won a bill of health to boot! Needless to say, I'll be back with her little sister and they've found a new doctor to call their own.

Service was horrible, I took my dog to get a shot and to get his ear check and instead of them treating one of his ear the charge for the other ear when nothing was wrong with it, also we was taking a trip with my puppy and needed some medicine to keep him calm only needed 2 tablets , they gave me 6 tablets. If you are going to change something talk to me first before you decide !!!!! Never again,Over Priced

7-21-22 ... I wouldn't recommend this place . Literally so unprofessional They over charge you when we have a set price I made sure it was that price And they confirmed it 3 times when it was time to pay for vaccinations they hit with the fee all they kept saying is it's too late they already did the service . The people there is a bunch of 16 years old working there when I was asking them questions about the vaccination it literally sounded like she had no idea about it and kept saying just ask a doctor here when I come in for my appointment . Very unprofessional and very rude when I ask for a manager cause she was acting real childish she hanged up and ignore . And also the doctor there injected my dog in the wrong place and had to re do it save yourself the time and just look for somewhere else where they don't over charge u when u ask them 3 times for the final price . the customer service was horrible. Didn't even get to talk to a manager to even explain to me . I don't even leave reviews ... I'm warning others
