How to Save Money at Petco Vaccination Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Not only were the prices affordable compared to other places, which was absolutely critical to me right now, but tje manager, Rachael V., was the KINDEST and most compassionate person I've ever encountered in the realm of animal care, and that's saying something. Rachael, thank you so very much for showing us that we were doing the right thing. We will not forget you! Tim Herrick

Hilary, April, and Dr. Halama were absolutely fantastic with our three-dog visit for vaccinations and heartworm/tick disease screening today. All three individuals are highly professional and well-versed at their jobs. I received thorough communication via text message from Hilary regarding our dogs needs for today's visit prior to even leaving the house for our appointment. Costs are transparently posted on their website for each service provided, and we found out that Nationwide pet insurance policy holders receive a discount on all services! My dog is very fearful and had even urinated in fear during the visit, and April and Dr. Halama remained calm, cool, and collected to get him through his visit. My partner's dog is also fearful, and they sweet talked her through her blood draw and vaccinations with ease. If you need your pet's teeth, eyes, skin, etc. checked, that is something you will need to do with a Veterinary Office itself, but Vetco is an excellent option for annual vaccine and heartworm/fecal testing to save a little money for the year. You will need to bring proof of last vaccinations at minimum. I will be working to send them a Thank-You card as soon as I can. Absolutely stellar service and cost for what we needed. Thank you, Vetco Team!! :)

My first time using the vaccination clinic and it was awesome. Online scheduling was a breeze, workers were friendly and knowledgeable, and it was cheaper than our normal vet visit! Thanks petco for offering this!

Really bad employee attitude! We are leaving the country in 2 weeks and we're just informed we needed to have rabies certificates for our cats. We arrived for 2 back to back appointments with our cats. Upon arriving we were sent directly to the vaccine table located in the middle of the store (not great accommodations for cats in a store filled with dogs) and after waiting a few minutes were sent to aquatics to check in. Gina, at clinic intake, was already helping someone with a dog. We had to wait 10 minutes and during that time our 2 cats in their carriers were approached by customer dogs making them nervous (we don't care that they also have cats, our cats don't have dogs and feel trapped and unable to defend themselves while in a carrier). My son & I discussed that situation and made comments about the poor setup being so exposed. Instead of helping us next, Gina helped someone else instead telling us that his appointment was before ours, turns out it was after our second appointment. When Gina finally addressed us (20 minutes after we arrived), she told us we were talking bad about her (we actually never mentioned her at all) and then told us (with extreme attitude) the clinic wouldn't take both cats because there wasn't now enough time before the clinic closed for lunch - but yet we had appointments. Then Gina told us to wait, walked off with the vet and returned and said "actually they are closed now and you will either have to wait 2 hours or reschedule". WTH? We did everything right. We made appointments, did the intake forms, brought our paperwork, were placed in an environment that was extremely stressful for our cats so for us as well, and then we get attitude with a capital "B". Were we upset? Yeah! Angry too. We stress our cats for no reason and then were lied to and treated like "S". Gina needs some serious customer relation training!!
