How to Save Money at Countryside Veterinary Services of Fox Valley
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have an extremely fearful, now 4 year old, rescue pup and vet visits are always incredibly nerve wracking due to his extreme negative reactions towards strangers. They have been so accommodating at every appointment by allowing us to meet at a side door, away from any other humans or animals, quickly get him in & out while being so kind and compassionate to our situation. We always schedule with Dr. Jenny and I don’t have enough positive things to say about the care she has provided for my little guy. She has been absolutely amazing in our journey to overcome his diagnosed separation anxiety by working with us on medication changes, ruling out underlying pain, listening to our trainer’s recommendations, partnering with our out of state Vet Behaviorist, and so much more. We switched to Countryside because our previous vet just did not understand how to meet the needs of my fearful, complex little dude. Very thankful we found Dr. Jenny and the rest of the Countryside team♥️

I’ve always had a positive experience with every vet I have seen here. When our new dog wasn’t even an established patient yet but she had a cancerous lump on her tail that was bothering her, they got her in much sooner for her appointment and this was during Covid when it was impossible to get in anywhere. They are also great with our other dog who is a nervous wreck. I can’t recommend them enough!

I called country side to get my cat checked out because she had a infection in her mouth.my reg vet would not see her.. long story. they could get me in a week and a half that was fine with me. Unfortunately she had to be put down before her appointment. Today I got a sympathy card from country side. To me that shows they really care about u and ur pet I will be doing business with them again.

We have been taking all 6 of our pets to Countryside since we moved to Appleton 4 years ago, and couldn't be happier with them. Everyone, from the front desk to the techs and doctors, are always very kind and helpful. We've never had a bad experience. They always do their best to get us in quickly if needed, give us good advice, and never push any additional services. Today, they really sealed the deal that they are the best. Our 17 year old Shih Tzu, Gretta, declined rapidly over the weekend, and we decided it was unfortunately time to say goodbye. We called and were given a few different same day appointment options, and when we arrived someone was waiting to take us right back to the room. Everything was explained, we were given options, and most importantly, nothing was rushed. We had the room for as long as we needed it. It was a nice room too, I must say, nothing like what I was imagining it would be. We were given all the tissues we needed, and even a bottle of water to rehydrate after all the tears. We were able to say our goodbyes, and I even held her as she drifted away. The technician was also very helpful in getting paw and nose prints, and making sure we were ready every step of the way, even after Gretta was gone, we were not rushed out. If you've ever had to do this, you know how hard it is, but Countryside made it as easy as anyone could, and we will be forever grateful for that. Thank you to everyone at Countryside for what you do!

I just had to put my 16 year old sweet boy (cat) down unexpectedly due to renal failure. He was starting to really lose his control over his bowels and bladder as well as lose a lot of weight drastically fast. Losing an animal, especially one that’s been in your life for so so long, is never easy. My boyfriend called around to places for me as it was too difficult to do at the time. After speaking with a patient that I work with at my work, I settled on Countryside. I am telling you, I was thoroughly impressed with them, from the time I called to make the appointment to the time I had to leave empty handed yesterday with just Jack’s collar to hold on to. Not only did we go to the new facility off Ballard, but the staff was amazing, gentle, understanding, and never once made me feel rushed in the grieving process. I got to hold my baby as he relaxed from the sedative. I got to remember and retell the day we first met to him, I got to give his kisses and cuddles, tell him he is the best boy and thank him for being there for me through dark days and good days. The staff gave myself and my boyfriend so much time with him and gave us a doorbell to let them know when we were ready. And when I rang… I got to hold him as they injected him, and I got to feel his whole body relax and no longer be in pain. I could never tell them how much that meant to me. How much it still means to me as I sob writing this review. If I ever have another fur friend, without a doubt, Countryside WILL be our place for any veterinary needs.
