How to Save Money at Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I can’t possibly say enough good things about our experience at Apple Valley. I knew they’d be a great fit from my first emails with Madeline, who answered all of my initial questions in great detail—and Dr. Jain, Brittney, and the rest of the staff have continued to be both quick and kind in responding to questions or concerns. (Which I deeply appreciate as someone with a lot of questions.) Ten days after our first visit, one of my dogs tore her cruciate ligament. After she was seen for it, I called with some follow-up questions late on a Friday, assuming I’d hear back on Monday or Tuesday. Instead, Dr. Jain called me back after the clinic had closed, walking through all of my concerns so I could confidently make a decision about where to schedule her surgery. He’s also brought new insight to managing chronic pain for my other dog, making sure she has the supports she needs to maintain her quality of life as she ages. From day one, the staff has been so kind and compassionate, from Cat and Kristina greeting my anxious little one with lots of treats and love during happy visits to Allie, Sabrina, Sandy, and Savannah making sure every detail was taken care of and every question was answered during appointments to so many other folks whose names I don’t remember but who have all been wonderful. The last few months with my dogs have been more complicated than I expected, but the Apple Valley team has made it so much easier than it would have been otherwise. They’ve been so kind and respectful of not only my dogs’ needs and feelings but mine as well. As I continue to see my sweet girls through their golden years, I’m so grateful to know that I have a vet and clinic who I can trust to support both me and my pups through all the ups and downs.

On a difficult day, when we prayerfully decided to bid earthly goodbye to our cat Crystal, I would be seriously neglectful if I didn't share this review. To Sandy, who greeted us and brought us to the beautifully peaceful room, words don't even begin, but THANK YOU. You took the time, patience and most importantly respectful empathy to make us feel, "at home". To Doctor Sanjay Jain, you blessed us with your dignified, respectful "bedside manner" in administering the procedure. Friends, this wasn't some sterile, uncomfortable setting. They even have a fireplace, comfortable chairs, pictures of pets. Sandy attended all needs. Water, kleenix, chocolate kisses (yes little human treats) and caring instruction was provided. I'm 63 and this was the second cat we had to bid an early goodbye. The difference at Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic was stunning. Crystal left us in the most dignified, loving manner possible, and that was possible due to the mindset and love of Dr. Jain and staff. Thank you, doesn't begin to encompass the gratitude I feel. Suffice it to say, those are the only words I can muster. I hope and pray that anyone in need of veterinary services will reach out to Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic, and experience the professional, loving care you and your pet will receive!!!

Dr. Carla has been the best vet I have encountered in the area. She handles my cat gently, explains things to me thoroughly, and doesn’t add unnecessary tests.

The new clinic is beautiful! This was our first time there with a new dog. Dr. Jain is a kind and thorough doctor, and easy to talk to. All of the assistants and receptionists were very friendly as well.
