How to Save Money at Countryside Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Recently I had some unexpected things happen, and had to find a place to board my cat (for far longer than I had ever intended). This was my first time boarding her, and I was extremely nervous as she’s a very loving cat and I wasn’t sure of how everything worked. I was completely relieved to know how much love and affection Lily received from the staff at Countryside Veterinary Clinic. Our situation was unique, as we could come visit Lily we just couldn’t bring her home yet due to us looking for a new living situation that would allow us to bring her back to us. Every time I was able to visit, Lily was comfortable calm and happy. All of the staff was more than kind and accommodating to us. If anything ever arises, Countryside is the first place I’ll go. Our whole family and Lily say thank you!

Countryside has been a life saver for my Samantha. Brought her in with no appetite and Dr Lamoine quickly diagnosed pyometra. Thanks to her knowledge, we still have our dog.

I love the doctor. But the staff in the front desk area is grouchy 90% of the time. I just Don't get it. I'm nice every time and still the service is so rude like I'm an inconvenience. The doctor needs to assess how he trains and expects the staff to act. As a first impression it's usually bad. So stressful to feel like you are not welcome. Staff needs a revamp or go to a seminar about attitude adjustments. Pets are our happy place and we should not feel like we are not welcome. Not sure they know how to smile. I kept thinking they were just having a bad day. Giving the benefit of the doubt. But I see they just must not have it in them to be nice to the clients to pay to come there. So sad really. ...... On the other hand the grooming service is So Sweet. Love them and the service of the grooming. We will be back, but only because we support the doctor and grooming services.

First visit to the clinic. Facility is very clean. All issues regarding my cat were addressed, doctor was very thorough and pleasant. Excellent communication. Definitely recommend this clinic. 10/27/2022 End of life care for my sweet elderly cat came this week.. The clinic staff, start to finish, treated her with sensitivity, respect and caring. This is a wonderful group of people who I would trust with any pet of mine.

I love this clinic. I have been using Countryside Vet for many years now for both my large and small animals. They all seem to care about my furry family. They are full service with new, modern equipment and a wonderful caring staff. As far as I am concerned, they are the best Veterinary Clinic in the central valley, I wouldn't take my animal family anywhere else. Update: I took the time to read the bad reviews and I feel for the people that have felt like they have had bad service. I am now on my 3rd and 4th dog with this vet and I wouldn't have it any other way. Yes appointments are hard to get, when your the best everybody wants to use your services. Emergencies suck, and when something is wrong with our animal children we all get a little crazy, I know I do, but patience can go a long way. This clinic has helped me through two deaths, one from cancer and another from old age with hip problems and arthritis. They have never been anything but caring and compassionate both at the time and after. My current girls are being seen at this clinic and they will be put down at this clinic (god willing, a long time from now). I want to thank everybody that works there, it is not an easy job dealing with hurt animals or the people that bring them in. I also want to say a special thank you to Dr. LeMoine who climbed into the back of my lifted truck while she was 8 months pregnant to put my dog down in her own space. That was going above and beyond, Thanks Doc, it's the little things you do that make the very hard times just a little easier to get through.
