How to Save Money at WellHaven Pet Health Corporate Campus
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Super happy with WellHaven. They really care about your animal and about your own concerns. Nice doctors and great staff. Facilities are clean and modern and I always got an appointment right away. When asked for the price of neutering I got a specific answer which was great. I have been to a different vet before and it was so hard to get an appointment and when asked for pricing it was not very transparent so I SWITCHED to WellHaven and I'm SUPER HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE bringing my dog there.

They are unorganized. I still get flyers from them saying my cat needs all these shots she has already gotten. I've sent her info to them multiple times and they still send me this. I waited a month to get test results that they got in 3 weeks before I actually got the results. Their excuse is the front desk person was new. For 3 weeks?!?!? My neighbor went to them is why I went there. She has stopped going too bc of simular issues. She brought her dog to a new place and what they were telling her about her puppy was wrong. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED PET WHERE THEY DONT CARE !

We've had some bad experiences at other vet clinics in town. Our dog, Jack, is a very good boy, but he is very 'reactive' when at the vet and somehow we've been made to feel like that's our problem to solve, not the professionals who deal with animals and their health ALL THE TIME! Not so at WellHaven. They were kind, friendly, calm and patient; got down on the floor, gave lots of treats, allowed me and my teenage son to assist in ways that made Jack more comfortable. We did have to resort to a muzzle, but they put peanut butter on the inside of it and I put it on him and that made all the difference. The shots were almost anti-climactic. He didn't even flinch. Whew! Next up, Rosie the cat, who is feisty, to say the least. They raved about how beautiful she is, which was perfect, she's very vain, and gave her lots of love, again, the shots were done with minimal drama. Vaccinations up to date, flea treatments that I asked for, nothing that I didn't ask for, except a few free samples of some joint health supplements because I mentioned that Jack had a knee that went out, occasionally. Oh, and back to back appointments on a Saturday within a week of my initial web inquiry. I wish HUMAN healthcare was that easy.

I went in to WellHaven pet clinic simply to get my dog some flea treatment. Upon entering I wasn't even acknowledged for about 5 minutes. When the woman eventually came to help me she told me that I couldn't get flea treatment for my dog unless I brought him in for an office visit. He had been seen many times at Stark St. And was an established patient who had been given the exact same treatment I was trying to purchase. Apparently because they had new doctors, I needed to bring him in. I'm sorry, but my dog was not sick or hurt. There was no reason for me to have to pay for an office visit. I feel like they just wanted to squeeze extra money out of me. Will not be returning.

Originally switched to this vet for the convenience (I live upstairs) but I like them so much I'd keep going even if we move. The entire staff is super friendly and they care! Drs Street and Gonzalez are both compassionate and caring doctors and explain things perfectly. Our 17 year old cat has many issues, and the doctors address each one and let me decide what actions to take, offering suggestions but not forcing unneeded tests. They have great hours too!
