How to Save Money at Northwest Spay & Neuter Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Kind and caring staff. Hello Pitty Rescue set us up through the Responsi-Bull program on 8/17/23 and they took such good care of Pitato Potato the Canine Tornado. I am sure he is going to heal up well and I'll post more photos when he is fully recovered Thank you

Had a great experience here! Even though my cat is literally the span of Satan at 7 months old, they did their best with her and even sent her home in a more comfortable crate. (Aparetntly didn't like hers anymore.). Andrea was a huge help making sure my kitten was getting all of her needed vaccines and after care medications and cone. *pic because she wouldn't wear said cone, so now she gets a baby jammies. She is healing well and happy. Thanks again.

I really love this place, the staff are so friendly and welcoming also very helpful. They have been my go to for my fury BESTIE all his life. I wouldn’t have it any other way. They give him his shots and his flea meds, trim his nails they even give a basic health exam. If it wasn’t for the staff checking on well being I would have never new how bad my baby’s gums and teeth are. I am also very greatful to them becouse I have gotten sometimes when I can’t buy my dog any food and they were right there helping me out and giving me food for him I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND NORTHWEST SPAY AND NEUTER TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THERE FURY BABYS AS MUCH I DO. These 2 pictures are the same dog how big and old he was when we first went 101/2 weeks and now 10 yrs old

I just dropped my baby Pancake at NW Spay and Neuter. They've always done amazing with my fur babies. They're costs are much less than taking him to his vet for things like Neuters and Spays. They love your babies and even play with them like they're family. Thank you for all that you. A loyal supporter of your cause.

I just got my 8 month old cat 🐱 Casper neutered here , it was pretty fast! The key is to go on the website at midnight 🕛 or late to book a neuter/ spay appointment. I booked last week Friday and got in on Monday for his surgery. My cat originally had an appointment with his vet at ban-field, but it was over $300 just to get him fixed and I was not going to pay that! It’s $115 here which is a very low cost compared to other vets and clinics ! It was a $45 deposit and $70 for the neuter which is $115 in total , super great value if you ask me. I followed instructions through the email confirmation after my appointment was booked . Make sure to come in early since parking is full , check in and drop off for animals vary by last name, the check in process was fast and they do offer other services but it’s up to you if you want to pay for them or not. Casper is doing great and eating and drinking! Thank you 🙏🏾
