How to Save Money at Madison Park Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Pros: good location, availability, tech staff. Cons: dated, non-physician staff felt stretched thin. Overall I had a pretty good experience here, better than our previous practice. Ultimately though I have to take a star off since our dog developed problematic tartar under their care. I brought it up repeatedly over the years but was dismissed due to his age. He is now in need of procedural treatment to address it a year later under another vet's care. That's on me yet I wish we got more guidance and a proactive plan despite our dog's youth and good general health. They gave us some dental treats and said it should be enough.

Lovely place for pet care. Everyone is very nice and kind. I see Dr. Katz, she has helped me very much with my previous kitties who were ailing and aging, and helped end my boy cat's suffering with a gentle hand. I have new kittens now, and I felt confident bringing them to her. They are great with dogs too! I see many happy customers with their pups in the waiting room.

My dog Taffy had cluster seizures required immediate intervention. Called couple urgent care we got turned away because they were at capacity. We drove around town trying to look for pet urgent care. Madison Park Veterinary Hospital was on the list so we drove there immediately. At that point I didn’t really care if they accepted Taffy or not. All I wanted is to get to a vet. They took care of taffy right away. No questions asked. We were so relieved. Dr. Katz is super compassionate, caring and a good listener. She updated us in details about Taffy’s conditions. The next day Dr. Katz called me and checked on taffy’s condition. I wish I lived closer to this hospital or have been approved for pet insurance. I would switch taffy to be under the care of Dr. Katz in a heartbeat. Sincerely thank you Dr. Katz and the wonderful staff who took care of Taffy. I’m also thankful that the bill was very reasonable compared to many other places. If you’re new in town and still looking for a pet hospital, please give Madison Park Veterinary Hospital a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I continue to feel so lucky to have my dogs under Jenya Katz’ care. She helped us with compassion thru the medical and hospice care of my dear dear IWS. Then with subsequent rescue adoptees who are another uncommon breed, she has continued to demonstrate how valuable her medical acumen and judgment are. Recently, my niece was frantic with an “expect him to decline rapidly and prepare yourself for the end” diagnosis from her dog’s Vet. Jenya kindly responded over a closed holiday day and fit us in next day onto a full surgeries schedule. Two weeks later, that dog is not dead but continues to get better and better. I could go on and on…. Yeah, this clinic is pricey, but in the long run, the care and advice you get makes up for that.

Madison Park Veterinary Hospital is outstanding in every way. Drs Katz (both!) and Valenta take wonderful care of our pooch, from standard care to out of the ordinary. The techs and front desk team are wonderful. Friday, our dog, LOVES going to MPVH. His tail wags every time. Thoughtful, caring, professional and considerate - we appreciate the TLC they provide to Friday (and our family, when worried about him!). Thank you, MPVH!
