How to Save Money at BoosterPet Veterinary Care & Urgent Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Beware all animal lovers. I would NOT recommend Booster Pet. Here's my story from a recent visit. I have an AKC Yorkie who is now 5-years old. I recently noticed my dogs abdomen was enlarged and she had frequent loose motions. Because of COVID its still very challenging to get into see any vet immediately. While I was shopping at Fred Meyer I noticed a vet clinic nearby called Booster Pet. When I got home I contact them immediately online to make an appointment. The vet clinic staff called me and scheduled an earlier appointment based on her condition that I documented online. One of the first things I noticed while I was waiting in the front office the facility looked very cheap. An outdated rug, a large dog weight scale in the waiting room, the wall colors were a soar to look at, and very cheap picture frames displaying pictures of different breeds. Kinda tacky which made me think the clinic was a fly by night kind of business. In the exam room the Veterinarian assistant weighed my dog and documented all the pertinent information. She went over the examination costs such as a flash ultrasound (what is a flash ultrasound)?, blood work, sample fluid from her abdomen exam fee and medication. She quoted me a price approximately around $500.00. The Doctor came in did a very quick check on my dog and took her into another room to do a 5 minute flash ultrasound. Brief conversations from the Doctor sharing the medications he will be putting her on and 45 minutes later it was time to pay my bill. The front office assistant said I owed approximately $900 dollars of which is a difference of $400 that was shared with me in the exam room. What they should of told me upfront was that this could cost me up to $1000.00 and they do not have full Veterinary facilities and potenially could just refer me somewhere else. If that was explained to me I would of gone somewhere else instead if spending $1000 for incluculsive results. I should also share that this clinic sent me an email with her prognosis of which I could not decipher because I am not a Doctor. I researched online to try and figure out what all this meant. In the email her prognosis from the Doctor stated her condition was extremely serious. Who sends an email rather than calling with an explanation of serious results?? Also, they recommended that I contact Summit urgent care immediately as my dog's condition is very serious and told me that Summit urgent care was the only clinic that has full ultrasounds. I called Summit clinic and they quoted me a ultrasound in the amount of $1200.00. With only a few phone calls several Veterinary clinics do have the full ultrasound capabilities and they only charge $400 for a full ultrasound. Plus the clinic stated if my dog's condition was life threatening and she would need to be euthanized they would not charge me. When I requested a partial refund because I was an unhappy customer Booster Pet emailed me stating I agreed to the high end amount and it was documented. The vet assistant told me the total amount in the exam room and it was NEVER discussed that my total amount could be over $900.00. As a consumer, I complained that the service wasn't delivered with reasonable care and I requested a partial refund based on everything that transpired. A 45 minute visit and I was charged over $900.00, an email that was extremely hard to decipher her inclucusive results, a lack of care, and insensitivity. I am certain this Veterinary Clinic (Booster Pet) is all about the money.

I am beyond satisfied with the service and care I’ve received from BoosterPet. They actually answer the phone and it doesn’t take months to get an appointment. They are my go-to vet for my two fur kids and I couldn’t be happier. I would recommend their services to anyone who is looking for a vet that actually cares. Plus, having multiple locations to pick from and emergency hours is convenient and comforting. I’ve had two instances now where I needed to see a doctor right away (though not an emergency) and both times I was able to get an appointment. Jessica L. has been their vet tech and she is so good with my fur babies. She has gone above and beyond to provide helpful information for my kids as it pertains to food all the way to grooming and maintenance. She is very knowledgeable and has spent a lot of time addressing my concerns and answering questions. I ask a lot of questions so I’m grateful that she is patient and doesn’t make me feel rushed. I had to see the vet yesterday as my boy was not his usual playful self and was showing signs of discomfort. I was worried so I took him in. The female doctor identified that he was showing symptoms of back pain and prescribed him medication. Her diagnosis must be correct as he is already showing signs of improvement, less than 24 hours later, and seeming to go back to his regular self. I appreciate everyone at BoosterPet and recommend their services.

The one upside to this place is that you can generally get seen quickly for urgent care if you need it. But their customer service is extremely subpar. I just had to have 4 separate phone calls, over the course of 2 hours, just to arrange to get prescription flea medication for my cats. Both Jessica and Peyton were extremely rude to me for no reason (interrupting me, using a very annoyed/aggressive tone of voice, repeating things they’ve already said which were unhelpful in a slower and more condescending tone of voice, pushing me off the phone, promising to give me a call back and not following through). I am a very kind person, and have worked in customer service for years before, so I try to treat customer service folks well because I know it’s hard. But wow, they sure made it difficult. I don’t recommend going here unless you have no other choice, which is the situation I’m in, as other vets were not accepting new patients the last time I checked. But I will be checking again now to see if I can go anywhere else but here.

We had a great experience, all things considered. The staff were kind and understanding, and Doctor Hodge provided exceptional patience, information, and guidance. Puma has made a full recovery and is back to mouthing off to me every morning 😀

Our care in clinic has been great, but we’ve been waiting for over a month for their centralized reception to approve our pets’ prescription with 1-800-petmeds. Calls and emails have been unanswered, leaving our pet without timely monthly preventatives. This delay in not very pet focused.
