How to Save Money at All Creatures Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I've been taking my pets to All Creatures since about 2018. In that time together, we've dealt with all life phazes for my pets (dogs, cats, birds), and one traumatic accident. I moved my pets away from a different animal hospital in the area, where I loved most of the doctors and vet techs but the office staff was less than professional. I always consider three factors when choosing any type of medical facility: Cleanliness, medical staff and office staff. One can imagine keeping a facility clean when all the patients are animals is not an easy task. All Creatures is always spotless. Messes are cleaned and sanitized immediately by any staff member that sees it. The doctors I have worked the most closely with the last two years are Dr. Salmon and Dr. Pam. Each have been professional, kind, articulate, always have more than one treatment plan, and follow up to make sure my pets are doing well. I highly encourage anyone with a giant breed dog to see Dr. Pam. She's the bee's knees with the giants. Dr. Salmon has a calm, peaceful demeanor which my animals respond well to (the vet can be scary!) and I love. The Vet Techs are always phenomenal and do a difficult job with style and grace. They were incredibly kind and compassionate to me when it was time to let my special little buddy cross that rainbow bridge. The office staff is courteous, humorous and professional all at the same time. Every individual I have come into contact with at All Creatures carries a deep compassionate love for animals and just happen to deal really well with their humans.

They are amazing. Been taking our dog Lucy there since 2016. Very kind and patient staff. Since January 2022 we've taken our anxious dog Jake and they are awesome with him too:-)

Hi, I'm Koko. My Sister Gemma and I have been going to All Creatures Animal Hospital for as long as we can remember (Dad says all of our life). We love leaving the house in our harnesses because that means we are going for a walk in the neighborhood or we are going camping in the big rolling playhouse. It is however a shock when we pull up to All Creatures as we know there are sobery, loud, nonsensical "DOGS" in there. VERY SCARY! The good thing is we have our own door to enter the building way far away from those "Animals". The assistant does a really good job of helping us to calm down and the Doctor is always gentle and has warm hands. The doctor said that I was a bit over weight but I'm working hard to trim up over the winter since we can't go for walks that often. Thanks All Creatures Animal Hospital. We appreciate you even though it still a little freaky to go in for appointments. Koko and Gemma

Absolutely uncaring. My dog got hurt and spent a long time trying to get them to help but they didn't. Eventually had to take her to emergency after a couple weeks because she got worse. They still didn't care. She died. They still don't care. She was a regular patient here and still had to beg for them to help, just for them to do nothing. If they would have done their job and helped my girl, she would still be alive. It was a preventable death if they would have actually cared. Awful place and I'll never bring my animals here again.

I don't know what we would have done without the team at All Creatures. My cat broke his femur and needed surgery right away. We were able to get him in and Dr. Nottingham made us (myself and my cat) feel so comfortable. After a very stressful 48 hours, I'm heading to pick him up this morning and can't wait to keep him safe while he recovers. Thank you, All Creatures!! Kitten and his family are all so, so grateful for you!!
