How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Service I received in 4/2023 OK. Agreed to the Wellness Plan and told I could cancel any time. Have been attempting to cancel for 2 months; separate phone number/online process. NO luck as I have not gotten any response to emails nor does anyone answer the phone. Went in person to the Store to cancel in person today and was told they can't do it, I have to call the number. They said it would probably be easiest to block the payments thru my financial institution... which they did in 7 minutes over the phone !!! It feels "greedy" to me so I won't return for any future services.

I was new to this Banfield but they treated me really well. They took my GSD back after I dropped him off but they were quick to come back out and tell me that he was really crying and stressing out in this new place without me. They quickly just took care of his appointment right then with me in the room so that I didn't have to reschedule! So nice!

My dog has Banfield Wellness for many years. He is 15 years old, so I pay for over $1000/ a year to Banfield. However, when my dog is sick, I called for 4 different locations and 6 times ( two times of Everett locations) to get him an appointment. It’s frustrating that they are all full like other comments. I called back to Everett to check if they can help me reschedule his next day dental appointment to exam, but they asked me to call urgent care or emergency, and refused to reschedule, even my dog is sick and can’t do dental next day. I need to think about what is Banfield Wellness. It’s really like it describes that we can walk in when my dog is sick? Or I just pay for his comprehensive exam and dental check appointments. When he is sick, we need to call for other emergency vet for help? So, what’s the Banfield wellness for?

If I could give this place -0 that’s what I would do. They made my friend suffer and watch her dog die and suffer in pain and refused to help the animal. Please do not take your animal here if you need euthanize they told your animal to be humane. In this case we weren’t trying to put the animal down just to kill the animal we were trying to be humane and they told us they were not going to help us they let the animals suffer, which causes pain and suffering. My friend will now never on an animal again, because of what she had to go through this place is horrible. Do not bring your animals here thank you.

This company is a mockery for customers, I paid a membership for a year, 2 tooth cleanings included, they only did 1, I took my pet to do x-rays for an emergency and despite being included they did not do the x-rays, 2 times they lowered the monthly payment at the clinic and they continued to debit more money than agreed. It's a scam! I asked for a refund for the dental cleaning and all the undue extra charges and they said that they did not return money! I DON'T RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE, they are SCAMMERS! Don't go to this place.
