How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Great customer service and great care of your pets! They took amazing care of my cats leg when he was wounded really badly and now he is fully recovered! Just make sure you are checking in 10-15min before your appointment so that you can get your pet in asap! It’s easier on the staff and faster for us. They even have some waiting rooms available , on one of my visits I was brought to a cat waiting room since there were a lot of dogs coming in that day.

This is what I want a pet hospital to be like. Our two dogs and one cat are treated at Banfield Pet Hospital-Bothell. The doctors and other staff are excellent, and our pets are in the great health that they are in because of the good care of this pet hospital. They helped my cat to have a pleasant experience at her comprehensive exam, even though she is very skittish about visiting the vet, by getting me a sedative prescription for our cat to take before the appointment.

In my past experience years ago I took my older cat when he was a kitten to Banfield and Banfield has always gone above and beyond for me. However just recently when I called the Woodinville location to schedule my younger cat for an immediate appointment the service from whoever I talk to at that location was horrible and I decided with that happening I wasn't going to waste my time. When I called the Bothell Banfield and explained my pet's situation and how I needed for him to be seen soon by a Doctor and with me being in the room, they went out of their way to schedule me the next day. Everywhere right now is short handed or vets are booked out but the fact that they did that and how they handled my cat with good care I have nothing but good things to say about Banfield Bothell. Dr.Kures was amazing with Pickles. Thank You!!

They cancel on you, and try to blame you for it. They were so nice the first time I called, then they switch on you and tell you they cant see your dogs. I dont understand the drastic change they had. They sound all angry or upset about something. This makes me question what type of work culture does Bandfield have as a whole. I had three other dogs, who passed away from old age and they were seen by Bandfield for YEARS, close to 16 years. No major problems through that time. They listened to my concerns, and my dogs were good. Now I got new puppies I thought I could have Bandfield see them, but I am thinking of completely switching veterinarian and never have them go to Bandfield. I felt almost like being thrown out the trash. They dont like you complaining about other Bandfield locations? Is that what that is? I complained about Bellevue location, because they were horrible. So, Bothell is punishing me for that? Are they all putting negative notes against dog parents so other locations see that? Like whats going on? What type of work culture do they have? What customer service training they have? They are a major veterinarian company having millions of dollars worth of profits and their staff sound so unhappy? Wth is going on there? Are the dogs getting bad treatment behind closed doors? Are staff getting burned out? Is all so questionable. How come they can change on you so quickly? They want dog parents to just shut up and have their dogs be maltreated? No complaints or else your pet gets kicked out? Whats happening??
